lol what tools are needed for this mod?

Completely dependent on how you go about making a cover for the opening.

have you seen how easy they come apart?

Yes. I've done so myself.

mods are mods, and you are way over thinking everything sometimes you just have to try something to see if it works for your needs

Another vague statement. Great.

What you said is true when it is small dampening, foam removal, etc mods in terms of slightly changing the tonal balance of a headphone, but we're talking about the entire premise on how the headphone is built. It's completely ridiculous to just think you can just 'throw shit at the wall and see what sticks' in this case.

You're the genius proposing OP literally tapes the inside of the enclosure, when he was complaining about leakage and isolation.

Don't tread on me. I squish, and white liquid comes out. It's icky, trust me.

Sorry, you're right. Just leakage. Either way, taping the inside of a cup is hardly going to reduce leakage.

No, because I don't need to. I have enough knowledge of the material and it's properties to know that blocking leakage is something it won't be good at. It'd be the same effect as layering a few pieces of cling film. Even my T50RP's leak considerably whilst having some of the smallest openings on any 'semi open' headphone on the market. Tape isn't going to do much. You need something actually solid.

The exact same reasoning as I used for the other tape.

is it going to absorb sound?

Yes. So does air. Felt is hardly a good broad spectrum dampener.

Keep the thread civil or save it for private messages. I'm sure that the OP doesn't want a cluster of people bickering over an issue that he'd like help on.

Last thing we need is for @Godlygamer23 to arrive and close this thread down for outliving its usefulness.

Dat backseat moderation, tho.

backseat moderation while taping on the front seat.

on topic, it's just not a good idea. I'm trying it, but so far its not going to well. It's improving, but I'm utilising a headphone measurement setup and previous modding experience.
