Excessive RAM Usage

Colonal-Kohler

So something is wrong with my PC. Currently it says it's using 20GB's of RAM, but opening resource monitor, I see this. Which could not add up to anywhere near that amount.
The stuff on the picture adds up to roughly 8GB's. Everything that is below the bottom of the screen is less than 24MB's, so worst case it could be like 2GB's additional.
I have no idea what to do, but it's making my computer super slow. Virus scans get nothing. Memory tests show there's nothing wrong. Any Advice?

There are a LOT of things that can cause this. I had this issue myself at one point and for me it was a memory leak in the "Windows Network Data Usage Monitoring Driver". In my case it was because I have an onboard Qualcomm Killer Ethernet and it wasn't playing nice with the windows drivers.

If you have Killer Ethernet on your motherboard you can try this fix; If not then I'm not sure where to start with this as it's VERY difficult to troubleshoot.

Navigate to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CONTROLSet001\Services\Ndu\" in regedit.

At that location you need to change the value of "Start" to 4.

Reboot and if that was the issue you shouldn't have your RAM being eaten up anymore!

Run tron script for virus and malware. Though this is a memory leak and quite the big one. Just wondering when was the last time you FULLY shut down your computer?

Then this could very well be your problem. It's a very obscure fix too it took me a couple weeks to finally fix it.
Hope it works for you cause those are a PITA to figure out. :)

I leave it off when I'm not using it, it had only been on for like 2 hours. I'll look that script up in a bit, do you have a link?
