Upgrading to SSD HELP!

I'm looking to buy an SSD for my brothers rig I built him, I know how to install the SSD but was wondering if anyone had any more information about transferring windows to the SSD from the old HDD? Is it as easy as copying the windows OS files across and changing the settings in the BOIS?

Not easiest, it would be best to back up his files and do a clean install. But it can be done, here is a guide. http://lifehacker.com/5837543/how-to-migrate-to-a-solid-state-drive-without-reinstalling-windows

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

Could I remove the old hdd and install windows on the ssd using a flash drive, then once installed just install the hdd back? As i want to use it at storage.
Then maybe delete windows off the hdd?

Suppose I should back up files just in case something goes wrong xD
