Cheap graphing calculator

As Im getting into more advanced Algebra Ive been looking into a graphing calculator as my dumb teacher doesnt let me use one online like Desmos (Which is really good btw). Whats a good, introductory graphing calculator that can handle functions with multiple rules and maybe includes trig functions? I can go to around 60 CAD. Thanks!

Our school always recommended the TI 84. Although somewhat pricy at 100 euro. Don't know how that works out in Canadian Rupees, but you can plot almost anything.

a used TI84 plus , got mine for 40€ back then , still serves me today , and even runs wolfenstein 3d

ti-84. Just get one. Your gonna need it a few years from now, its really the only one out there.

Graphing calculators are a bit overrated and comically overpriced. The only time I've ever needed one was when part of the lesson material was centered around programming one (which was bullshit, by the way).

A Ti-36X Pro basically does everything useful that a graphing calculator does, and it should serve you well pretty much at any level.

Ti 84 plus CE if you want fancy color. Honestly they shouldn't allow you to use them on anything. They have unit converters, sig fig calculators, a full periodic table, algebra variable solvers, and so much more.

Theyre 20 bucks more on amazon.ca (160) so I might get one  I realized 70 CAD was a little extreme

I disagree. Graphing calculators are bloody useless for school, and they're too primitive for recreational or professional applications.

Not sure, I just remember flipping through and seeing the red symbol. My textbook is at school because thats where I usually have the extra time

it's expensive but the ti-83/84/84+ have been the standard for a long time, I still use the one I bought in High school.

Almost every time a textbook 'requires' a graphing calculator, it's telling you to graph a function and look at the graph. My advice: Ignore that with a vengeance. It'll make you better with the material, and you won't waste more than $100 on an antiquated plastic brick whose only function is to show you pictures.

I might as well learn though. AFAIK I will NEED to know how to use one for Electrical Engineering

In college engineering courses, you should be able to use something like MATLAB or some other program.

Depends on how you solve or what kind of problems you solve. I still find them useful to have around even at university.

Colours can be really helpful with some graphs! It's sometimes too difficult to discern the different curves.

Sure, they can be useful, but not $100 useful. Not even $50 useful.

In the end, they can make some things easier, but they're absurdly expensive and never actually necessary. Not to mention that most of the things they make easier are things that would benefit you to be good at without a calculator.
