Gmod or Cities Skyline?

Hello,

 

I realised steam had a sale going and the two games I wanted are on offer, however, I can only get one.....Any personal reviews or recommendations? I like construction games which cities skylines suffices, but gmod apparently has lots of possibilities....I'm not sure which to get.

Feel free to ask any further questions.

I have 1800 hours on Gmod. But I cannot stand it now.

 

I probably grew out of it. 

 

If you have a bunch of friends who would play with you then I would say Gmod.

 

If not Cities Skylines.

 

Both are GREAT games.

I only have 1 friend who can play Gmod with me....is it still worth it?

Hmmmmm, yes and no.

 

A lot of my hours were with friends. 

 

It is hard to tell because game mode popularities shift (apart from the the obvious TTT and DarkRP) and so do servers. So one month it will be great with a brilliant server, then the next it will not be there and it will be crap because everything is French.

 

If you are still young, e.g below 16 I would get Gmod. 

 

If not, Cities Skylines. Also Cities Skylines has great mods which carry on making it fun.

After having 2400 hours on Gmod, I can tell you that Sandbox serious build has been enough to keep me with it. Also, plenty of other game modes to fuck about on

If you like making stuff that's down to a person's size, like a car or a house or something, go for Gmod.

If you like making large scale cities, go for Cities Skyline.

 

btw... Cities Skylines is SUPER realistic, in terms of traffic. I've spent hours redesigning roads just to stop the traffic jams.

How is it crashing? Even with my however old craptop I can run it at like 60 FPS

My laptop struggled with Garry's Mod. Then again you probably shouldn't be running 4x MSAA on a shitty APU, especially on custom maps.

Yeah, I don't know, it crashes on launch and still does with a clean install.... I've refunded it.
