status update man...

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

you are pushing away other posts that may be more relevant(ex, people needing help with something) from the recent topics, use the forums status update system or atleast the off topic sub so you dont do that if you are not asking, need help, posting news, makeing a build-log or similar, this was just you saying you had reached something, no pictures, no content and this is litteraly the kind of thing you are suposed to put in the status updates

This isn't the build log sub forum, This is also not the new sub forum, the off topic, not many boinc people would be there, this sub forum isn't exclusively for people needing help, unless you can't read the title then you won't mistake it or miss a post in which someone needs help, the best forums are those that welcome all posts.

the thing is that this pushing away posts from recent topics so less people see them, less people get help and there is a system on this forum just for little things like this because this IS a status update

By constantly replying here it is pushing it up, as well as taking your attention away from posts you are supposedly trying to help, why don't you go and look for them and help then instead of wasting time here being a hypocrite. Practise what you preach.

this is putting the topic at the top of the folding subforums recent, im talking about the sidepanel titled "Recent topics". posting here isnt hurting anything because the folding and mining subforum is pretty un-used.

I never use that to find topical things, anyone who could help is probably already going to be in that area, if I posted that in any other sub forum, it would have had the same result. Q.E.D

thats why you use a status update for this. and a lot of people use the recent topics to help people in need quickly, me included. most posts that havent gotten a reply when they leave the recent topics colum are never going to get a reply and if thats someone that needs help, all chances they can have they deserve. posting irrelevant thigs its pushing away people from there, thats why i told you to use status updates instead.

Much like there posts not being answered who the hell do you think will read the status. I roam around sub forums since it's vastly more accurate, I've never seen a post that wasn't super complicated answered, so unless you live in an alternate dimension I don't know what you based that on. As it stands you could be finding people asking questions and answering them to make yourself more useful than arguing on the internet (which is a lot like the special Olympics)
