I wish I could set my single-thread clocks straight up for Valley and have my CPU run at my single-core boost speed. This thing uses exactly 1 CPU thread. It might give me a bonus xD

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

Blah. These drivers really dislike my 1100 clocks for Valley. Doesn't even matter how much voltage I shove at it. *missing 340.52 driver*

new high score!! - not quite the 84.1 that I wanted but I don't think there is any more left in the tank for this little 980

clocks as pictured. GPUZ seems to show the clocks as lower since I changed BIOS? MSI AB seems to show them correctly... not to sure what is actually going on here as three difference applications all show different clock speeds haha. I reckon Valley is the least correct.

Valley: 1645 mhz core

MSI AB: 1556 mhz core

GPUz: 1481 mhz core

What do?

I would think AB would be the most accurate, thats where your changing the clocks. But i could be wrong, usually am lol

Awsome score!!!!!!

Afterburner is the most accurate. gpuz is reading the boost clock, but with GPU boost 2.0 it can go higher than the boost clock depending on the temperature and power targets. nice score btw.

cheers. I though AB would be about right...

There is still two 780's, two 780Ti's and three titans above my score :-P It really makes me a little disappointed overall with the 9xx series... I need to become obsessed with a benchmark that favours them over the 7xx series haha

Unfortunately I had to give up on 3d mark top scores for now because I only have a single 970 (I'm a high end peasant but still just a peasant who can only afford 1 at the moment) and also because I only have a I5 and can't upgrade to an I7 just for the sake of some benchmarks; not yet anyways. Have to wait until after the holiday season because I have a big family and we kind of go all out with presents and family trips.

its a tough call, though I would like to think that the 980 generally beats the 780ti overall in games.

The only reason you would not want to get 780Ti would be lower VRAM I suppose.

If you get lucky with 780Ti too(just like you did with your godlike 770s), I'm pretty sure you can reach the top spot in single and dual GPU chart(seen Kingpin reaching 1500Mhz without a sweat). I heard that a good 980 Classified can reach 1750Core but compared to 780Ti, that would cost you a lot more.

Yeah plus I'm mostly upgrading my video cards for GTA V since I'm already hitting the VRAM wall in GTA IV at 1080p with just the ENB preset I use.

CPU: I7 3770K
GPU: 2x MSI 7970 Lightning BE, 1205 Core, 1600Mem
Average FPS: 102.9
Score
: 4305

Note: GPU-Z shows 1250 core, but that was my start and I forgot to refresh :( run this one at 1205, max core I get without artifacts)

YFQ52C6.jpg

This was done according to the AMD optimization in the OP and 1x1 optimization for CF. Going bone stock I get 89-90FPS.

Going to tweak some more tomorrow need to find the exact limits, but for that I need to open up the windows and deploy the fans.

Still safe to say this blows my single R9 290x lightning out of the water and I only paid 260 euros for the set which I have to say was a bargain, but hey the guy accepted the offer.
