Idk why I'm excited for the 580, then again fermi... I personally would try more voltage on my card, but it already hates passing 58C with just 1.25v... At 57C it is pissy enough. But 56C, it is happy... Love how this is the only reason why I want winter to come. :P

1.212v+ is what the DCUII 580 is gonna be pushed.

It's like pcie for laptops... Well that's basically all it is. Except just for mxm supported gpus.

Its a shame that I can't make use of the PCIe gen 1 x16 dock slot on my Tecra M5, and that the Quadro NVS 110M can't SLI or allow another dGPU to power the screen.

Thats gonna be a tough call since the 290x is a Lighting card and the 780 is a Classified card so they will be evenly matched. I think in the end though the 290x will pull slightly ahead in 3DMark but in valley the 780 will be the faster card.

XFX's new heat sink looks nice and the card comes with a backplate and front plate as well. Just the PCB looks underbuilt AF

It's been a very long time since I posted here, but I finally invested into a Maxwell GPU, a 980 Super Jetstream to be exact (kinda late to the bandwagon, I know :D), and the overall package amazes me (that cooler is goat). Time to OC that old CPU again, make it burn one last time.
There seems to be a discrepancy between observed in-engine FPS and RivaTuner FPS, weird.

 

CPU: i7 2700k at 4.4 GHz

GPU: GTX 980 SJ @ 1507 MHz/2002 MHz

FPS: 79.5

Score: 3328
