Unigine Valley Benchmark Scores Thread + SUPERPOSITION ***Over 1000 Submissions!***

i have a question, why is the Clock speed in Valley higher than the one showing in Precision?

 

GPU boost on Nvidia cards steps up in ~13Mhz increments, and depending on temperature, power limit etc, the boost frequency will float up and down in 13Mhz increments. there is no minimum frequency, but there is a maximum frequency that boost won't go past, and that maximum number will go up or down as core clock offset is adjusted. Seems like Valley is reading that number, instead of monitoring the real clock speed. 

 

I'm not sure why Unigine developers have never fixed it. obviously GPU-Z, Afterburner and other software can monitor the correct frequency in real time. Its the same thing with reading the correct temperature of AMD cards. 1 billion degrees Celsius is slightly off. It's possible that monitoring these numbers takes cpu resources, and can effect the score (maybe?).

@Najuno - can you, or someone, do a Titan X 4k SINGLE CARD run at 4k? prefer stock and then overclocked :-)

Well, was a good and a bad day today overall.

 

Good - Got a nice boost in Basic from a 4.4GHz overclock, and there's still a CPU bottleneck there so I can go higher if I can get the CPU there. Also dug out my AS5 and re-pasted the GPU, 1306MHz boost is semi-stable in a warm room, probably solid under cold.

Bad - Volt mod didn't work, or I'm being dumb, or multiple reasons. If anyone could point me towards somewhere I could get some help with that, you'd have my many thanks since the chip doesn't seem to match the datasheet (Definitely the right datasheet, checked this a lot)

heaven tests the gpu core more and valley is more focused on the gpu memory. being the valley thread, i would say valley is best :P

That AMD CPU is holding you back. I got 66.6 fps at 1120/1400.

Well everything DX11 is single threaded really. It's AMD's fault for designing 8-core CPUs with poor single core performance in the age of an API that relies on single core performance. DX12 will give their CPUs a nice boost but there are and there will be a lot of DX11 games.

True, but remember these FX series CPU's were designed before DX11 was launched as an api.

True but there wasn't a massive demand for draw calls on a single thread like DX11 has.

Yeah, then I guess the issue is that they didn't bring anything new to the table for such a long time. CPU-wise I mean.

So I'm pretty sure I now have the fastest Strix 970 on LTT. :) 1550MHz on the core and 2079MHz read off of GPU-Z. :D (8.316 GHz effective)
