Had my 980's and my new build for less than a month and I love it. It destroys games and benchmarks haha. It will be interesting to see how Windows 10 effects benchmarking.

From when I did my testing it was terrible in the current build.

That's sad to hear. Hopefully that get it nice and optimized for launch :)

I thought I'd give this a shot.

CPU: AMD Phenom X4 II 965 BE @ 3.4 GHz (stock) with 212 evo cooler

GPU: Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC (stock)

Average FPS: 51.2

Score: 2142

I thought it would produce something around 60 FPS average, but maybe I'm expecting too much of this card.

But I'm very satisfied with the sound it produces (or better to say, doesn't produce). I haven't heard any noticeable increase in sound ever, with gaming or benchmarking. I have no special sound dampening case (CM Centurion 534).

Please give me your feedback on these numbers. I don't know if these are good, bad or just average for this card.

Thanks.

The small CPU deficit you have compared to modern processors is whats the difference in that software (older architecture IPC and more demanding software) IMO,.. my 290non-X gets 59FPS, my 290x gets 60.5-61fps using the same ExtremeHD.

Overclock your CPU and it will rise higher in performance.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

That seems really low for a 290, I'd guess there's a CPU bottleneck there since you're only a bit faster than my 760.

your 480 is being picked up as a 3GB card on Valley o_O

Our Grace. The Feathered One. He shows us the way. His bob is majestic and shows us the path. Follow unto his guidance and His example. He knows the one true path. Our Saviour. Our Grace. Our Father Birb has taught us with His humble heart and gentle wing the way of the bob. Let us show Him our reverence and follow in His example. Zotac GTX 770 4gb Vram.

That looks like a really low score for a 770, especially at 1600x900.

Bench it at 1080p and see where it stands, tried the tips on the first page for more performance?

So I've ordered myself a DMM and some solder since I'm gonna bite the bullet and mod my 760 without a good replacement card, hopefully I don't mess it up or I'll be running a GT630 for the forseeable future. If all goes well, expect 1.3v and up runs some time next month :D

Oh, and have this, I still despise this GPU and wish this board had an Intel chip, but I guess it's not all too bad.
