Unigine Valley Benchmark Scores Thread + SUPERPOSITION ***Over 1000 Submissions!***

Spreadsheet updated. New top single GPU score going to @ablangc

This is not going to last long.  On Overclock.net, there are plenty of people who have a 6700K scoring better than me.  I think the best one I saw so far was 182fps.  My CPU is definitely holding me back.  Is it enough to warrant a new setup?  No, but it is nice!

I have a potato!

First entry @1100MHz on the core and 1350 on the memory. +63mV on the core with no additional voltage on the memory.

I plan on making 1150/1400 stable, but I need to find what voltage it works at.

CPU: Intel Core i5 4570 @3.2GHZ (3.6GHZ Boost)
GPU(s): MSI Radeon R9 290X Lightning 4GB @1100/1350MHz +63mV
Average FPS: 63.9
Score: 2673

Second entry @1200MHz/1400MHz. I was giving too much voltage on the core apparently because it was smooth sailing at 1200 with +69mV on the core. Memory is stable at 1400 but when I push it to 1500 it artifacts and crashes. So the core is fine now, I guess the memory is good too.

Didn't save the screenshot for whatever reason so I posted the saved .html file instead:

if amd artifacts it needs more volts......... also there are 100 steps between 1400 and 1500 and mems dont scale linearly so you might wnat to test that.  also put fans on 100% all the time and it will keep cooler and get higher speeds.

It artifacted because the memory was higher, I think I need to add voltage to the memory now. But the core is just happy with +69 at 1200. I would like 1500 though, it's just kind of weird that I need to add voltage at that speed.

I'm happy with 1200 but hell if that works, I'll take it. Right now I'm trying to keep the memory at 1500, it kind of works with +20 on the memory but it artifacts a bit so I'm going to make it +30 on the mem and see if that helps.

Once I get the memory stable at 1500 I'll try 1250 on the core with the voltage you mentioned.

well you can go to 1.65v on the mems its the same as ddr3.

It's running stable at 1450 with +31mV, I could add more to make it stable at 1500 but I think 1450 is pretty good. I'll try 1250 on the core now, but this is my third entry, I'll just post the Valley screen and the GPU-Z since I've already posted the CPU-Z.

Hopefully I can break 3K with 1250 on the core. Should put me up there on the score board, I'm surprised people have gotten better with the 290X even though theirs are clocked much lower.

Not stable, crashed the benchmark. I tried at +100, it was artifacting a bit, so I tried +88, still artifacting, so then I tried +115 and it crashed. I was having issues earlier becasue the voltage was too high, but I tried changing it around and it just doesn't like 1250 in general. 1200 is good though.

So far I have 1200/1450. Not bad.

Hmm. Try the highest core clock you can at +69mV. Do you have the extra 6 pin plugged in?

Extra 6-pin plugged in and the card is in LN2 mode. I'll try 1250 at +69.

Edit: Nope, doesn't like it. I'll stop at 1200/1450 though. My temps are already at 87-89C at equilibrium (I ran Valley to make sure 1200/1450 is stable and it sits at 87C at 100% fan speed).

I might look at other cooling solutions before I start adding anything else. 87C is pretty high, especially for a Lightning. Might do a thermal paste swap or put it on water.

Not to blame the forumer I got it from (seriously, the card is awesome), but I think the thermal paste job could've been done a bit better :P

I'll replace the TIM with Arctic Silver 5 next week, assembly it back together really well. Hopefully that solves the high temps, maybe it's because it already draws like 350-400W on load and even a big ass cooler can't help that. If that's the case then I'll probably hook up a 240mm AIO to it, or maybe do a custom loop so the VRMs and memory are cooled as well.

Please don't put an aio on it. A custom loop is much more lightning. Mine has been f@h for a week or so at stock speed with the fans fixed at 50% and the max temps are 67c.  If you take you side panel off if you have it in a case and put fans on 100% you should be able to keep it under 70c with decent paste. Amd cards like to clock better under 65-70c for some reason. Also try a bit of Aux volts as well that can help.

Yes, what else did you expect?

Here in the states those are called STDs so we don't even think of that when we say STI.

I don't know, I might put a custom loop but that's the one thing I've never done before (I've even fabricated my own cases), and they are extremely pricey.

Yeah they are quite awesome. One of the ones I drove had $30K worth in mods, made around 500 to the wheels. Was super sick.
