3840X2160: 4K Preset

Same sub score rules as valley.

Unigine Valley Benchmark 1.0

Welcome to the Valley benchmark thread! The place where our forums most (and least) powerful PCs compete. Every PC is welcome here and benchmarking is highly encouraged for all users. Not only to try for that top spot , but to add to our data to our ever increasing scoreboard and spreadsheet. The more scores  we have the more accurate performance data and component classifications we have. So join us! Download the benchmark and start competing now.

The benchmark can be downloaded here:
http://unigine.com/products/valley/

Rules
1920x1080p:

The Extreme HD Preset must be used.

For 1440P,1600P, 4K (3840X2160), triple screen or 21:9 it should be on maximum settings. that is:
API:               DX11
Quality:         Ultra
Stereo 3D:    Disabled
Monitors:      Single
AA:               x8
Full Screen: Yes
Resolution:  System/custom

720P:

The basic preset must be used.

To submit your score:

You must have a captured screenshot of Unigine Valley running with the score you are submitting. To take a screenshot in Valley, Press F12 while in the benchmark. Valley screenshots are located in C:\Users\YOUR NAME\Valley\screenshots. In your post, include your Valley screenshot of GPU-Z (and preferably of CPU-Z too).

please post in this format:

CPU
GPU(s)
Average FPS
Score
Screenshot of valley, GPU-Z and CPU-Z

Nvidia users: If you want accurate clocks on the scoreboard, use the sensors tab in GPU-Z so that we can get accurate clock readings.

if you have a link or a photo that is ok, but the above method is preferred.

To submit for the average FPS leaderboard:

First, You must have run the Valley benchmark in 1080p, 1440p and 4K with the same PC. Once you have scores for all three tests, put all there in one post and clearly request that these be added to the average FPS leaderboard. Once you have scores for all three tests, put all three in one post and clearly request that these be added to the average FPS leaderboard. Once you have added, you can continuously update your score individually. If you want your scores updated, please mention in your post that you are on the average FPS leaderboard, so we do not forget to update it.

Little Tweaks I do suggest for scoring higher in valley

Nvidia:
1) Right click on your desktop to bring up the NVIDIA control panel, and click on “Manage 3D Settings.” Click the Program Settings tab, then the drop down box to choose Valley. If you don’t see it you can click the Add button for Unigine Engine, or Browse for Valley.exe which is in C>Program files (x86)>Unigine>Valley>bin. Change the following four items, then click Apply.
>Muti-display/mixed-GPU acceleration change to Single display performance mode
>Power management mode change to Prefer maximum performance
>Texture filtering – Quality change to High performance
>Vertical sync changed to off
2) Now click on “Adjust image settings with preview” in the control panel. Click the “Use my preference emphasizing:” button and change the slider to Performance, then click Apply.
3) Have only one monitor plugged into your card(s).
4) Overclock your chip as much as you can with reasonable stability.
5) Overclock your card’s memory as much as possible, Valley likes high memory clocks, then overclock your card’s core as much as possible.
6) Change your desktop theme to Windows Classic.
7) Shut down all other programs, and do not have any monitoring software running.
8) You need to keep your card from throttling. Many cards have a thermal throttle point, such as 70c, where they downclock. If you are not underwater then open up your case, use a floor fan blowing on your cards, run Valley at the coldest part of the day, or anything else you can do to keep all your gpus under their throttle point. Some cards will allow a greater oc if they are colder as well.
9) Hit ENTER to scroll through the first few seconds of each of Valley’s 18 scenes before hitting F9 to start the benchmark.

 AMD:

Open Catalyst Control Center
Gaming (tab)
3D Applications Settings
Press Add
Go to C://Programs files (x86)// Unigine // Valley // bin // valley.exe

Under Anti-Aliasing: you don't change anything

Under Texture Filtering:
Set Anisotropic Filtering Mode:Override Application Settings
Set Anisotropic Filtering Level: 2x
Set Texture Filtering Quality: Perfomance
Set Surface Format Optimizations : Off

Only for multi-gpu:
For crossfire the default profile is working fine. But you can force 1x1 optimization or AFR friendly if you believe that you will achieve a higher score.
For tri-fire or quad you NEED to force 1x1 optimization to have a good usage across the cards.

Tab : Performance
Go to AMD overdrive and disable it. For benching you should use MSI AB or Trixx

Windows Tweaks:
Disable AERO.
Right click on the desktop
Personalize
Basic and High Contrast Themes and choose Windows 7 Basic

Set priority of valley.exe
Open valley and while you are on the launcher do this.Right click on the taskbar
Start Task Manager
Processes
Find valley.exe
Right click
Set priority and choose Real Time

Turn off UAC.
Its just useless

Disable indexing on C: Drive .
Right click on your C
Properties
Untick ''Allow files on this driver to have contents indexed in addition to file properties''
Apply changes to drive C:/,subfolders and files (you should install valley on your ssd if you search the optimal performance)

Terminate explorer.exe
Open task manager
Find explorer.exe
Right click End process

I only have me a GTX 670, and that's folding away right now so I'm afraid I won't have a very good score. I am curious though as to how well @ericlee30 and @Cacao do as they both have powerful GPU set-ups in their own right

Ok.... This is me running everything on my computer at 100% already, and doing complicated equations on both in the form of folding and 3D modelling...

Also, I swear I don't have 70 tabs more than Linus at any given time

I won't be able to update my thread much anymore, so if you want to merge the scores and repost the images and results, I am okay with that. Are you allowing tweaks or not? Tweaks make a quite a big difference in scores.

Can everyone please post their CPU & Clock speeds in the format request please.

No worries, majority of the scores posted within your thread lack CPU information, which is a pain, but i'll try and merge what i can.

I'll allow tweaks, but those who want them will have to visit the OCN thread.

Brace yourselves gt 610 results coming tomorrow if there are any places left. Also may i ask why only the top 30? I know somw forums where there are more than 30 people with triple 770,680 or 7970s or dual titans. It a bit too much of a pay to win kind of thing.

I will overclock the CPU once I figure out what is wrong with Windows 8 that causes my NB to drop to 1500 MHz no matter what.

Like you sayyourcpu is a serious bottle neck there because i got a high score with a 670 and an athlon and 7870 are normally faster than my 670

For Valley yes, but for the games I play and Heaven it works perfectly fine :) or it's my weird Northbridge Windows 8 problem.

Edit: You sure a GTX670 is slower than a HD7870? Because wasn't the 7870 meant to be 660/660 Ti level?

Thats more like it!

To be fair it was only a 1 FPS increase :P  and I have compared it to some benchmarks done by websites. Apparently a R9 270X (basically an overclocked HD7870) gets 33.9 in Valley and that's with an Intel Core i7-3960X @ 4.6 GHz so no real CPU bottleneck :D
