I was searching the web, and the base model RX480 8Gb is about U$30.00 cheaper than the Strix 1060 6Gb... Is it worth it?

Because maybe I`ll be able to overclock the strix card... I don't know, never done it before

no, reference RX 480 with the plastic blower cooler is a piece of shit...it overheat and trottle...do not buy that.

If you overclock the GTX 1060 it will then be faster than RX 480...and it's very easy...if you plan on overclocking the card, i would tend to go with the 1060 because it overclock more than the 480.

So, I am finally going to swap my current GPU (HD 6570) for a new one!

I'm thinking about buying the GTX 1060, but I don't know if this GPU is going to be bottlenecked by my CPU, which is an i7 2600.

I plan on playing the most recent games (Battlefield 1, Rocket League, Overwatch, The Witcher 3...) on 1080p.

Thanks a lot! :)

May be like 2 fps but pretty much no you shouldn't be bottlenecked.

3gb and 6gb are similar, but 3gb is not much Today, and since you should be using it for at LEAST 2 years, 6gb is better.

And i7 2600 is a good CPU, dont worry.

8gb of ram is also fine, it is the budget sweetspot.

Ultra is stupid. ALWAYS.

They trade blows. It really depends on what games you play. AMD did bring their game up though. What matters more is what price you can get a 1060 6GB vs 480.

Also, your CPU is fine.

but AMD is focusing on Dx12 right? So in the future, probably AMD will be better? Can Nvidia improve on Dx12 games just by updating the software?

depends on price i would go with the cheaper between the 1060 6G or RX 480 8GB...both are very similar in performance.

Thanks! But can Dx12 games be improved on a 1060 just by software updates?

NOO I was comparing the AMD RX480 against the GTX 1060

Honestly, I would go for the RX480 since the new Crimson Relive driver update. It also has more VRam

yes and no, it depend on the game, the 1060 is not far behind even in DX12, and most DX12 stuff so far is either broken, or perform worse than DX11...when both are supported DX11 usually perform better both on amd and nvidia, and it will take a while before DX12 becomes the norm for games, and also, it will still depend on the game because some favor nvidia and some favor AMD and this will still be true in DX12 titles...so, yes and no :)

i would base my choice on price, or check what games you play and take the card that perform better in those titles because those cards trade blows from game to game.
