PSU for the R9 295x2

GalacticRuler

So I found a R9 295x2 on eBay for $150 and I'm considering buying it. Since it has insane PSU requirements, would either the Corsair AX 850 or EVGA GQ 850 be enough for it? I'd also be running it with a FX-8320 that I am planning on overclocking. Should I even consider that card?

850 is the minimum PSU to run the whole system with the 295X2

1K watts PSU is the suggest PSU to run with OC on both CPU and GPUs

I'm not planning on overclocking the GPU, just the CPU. Would that still need 1000 watts?

the FX8320 OC will draw upwards of 200Watts and the GPU 500 watts may be cutting close with 850 watts

so 1K gives the CPU and GPU breathing space

Make sure that it actually works as the 295x2 seems to go at cheapest, for $500 still.  just a word of caution, unless you were lucky enough to win a bid at $150.

You need a 450W for your motherboard and a [9.0 x 10^8916100448256] W mini nuclear reactor for the 295x2.

You forgot a few dozen zeros for the mini reactor.

@ARikozuM @Drak3 Thanks for the informational replies :P Will this be enough or should I get two?

Image result for arc reactor

Two would suffice for a few hours of Minesweeper.

at least its a bit more powerful

This one is MIT's Nuclear Fusion "reactor" <--more for tests and is the smallest Tomahawk(doughnut) sized device.

Guru3D calculated that the 295X2 uses just a smidge over 500W on it's own. I'd avoid overclocking the GPU since that card doesn't overclock that well anyways. Then 850W will be plenty.
