NSFW: Don't Share Watch Dogs 2's Vaginas

By Julian Benson on 15 Nov 2016 at 4:36AM

So, it turns out that Watch Dogs 2 has fully modelled vaginas on some female characters – something that slipped through certification. However, if you take a picture and share it to prove that these vaginas do in fact exist then Sony will temporarily ban your account.

So, here's a little Public Service Announcement from me to you: don't share Watch Dogs 2's vaginas.

There is some NSFW imagery in this post so don't look past the picture of Dale Winton if you're at work:

dale-winton-05.jpg

Over on NeoGAF, Goron2000 tells how he was sent his copy of Watch Dogs 2 early and claims he has discovered that some of the female character models had fully textured genitals:

I received my copy of Watch Dogs 2 on Saturday evening due to a mistake on Amazon Prime Now and I've been having a great time with the game so far. On Sunday evening I accidentally blew up a few women in a back alley with a gas pipe and then I saw *it*; someone at Ubisoft had rendered a full vagina on one (or maybe more) of the females in the game.

Goron then went on to share a screenshot of the vagina from his PlayStation and came back to the game the next day to find he'd been banned from using the game's online features. In an email, Sony explained that his image had broken its code of conduct:

We’re writing to inform you that your Sony Entertainment Network account has been temporarily suspended.

We’ve made this decision based on your online activity in Live from PlayStation on 14-11-2016.

Content of an adult or sexual nature is against our Code of Conduct.

The suspension will last 1 week and will be lifted on 21-11-2016. You won’t be able to access online multiplayer, PlayStation Store and other network features until the suspension is over.

We take the decision to suspend an account very seriously, and we only do so after one of our moderators has carefully analysed the situation. PlayStation Support therefore cannot overturn this moderation decision.

We ask all our players to act decently, respectfully and with consideration for us and other players while using PlayStation Network. To make sure you understand the behaviour we expect from our community, please review the Code of Conduct here before returning to PlayStation Network. Please be aware that any further breaches of the Code of Conduct may result in a longer suspension or even a permanent ban.

Yours sincerely,

SIEE Moderation

On Twitter Swizzasaur also claims to have suffered the same fate after tweeting a screenshot proving that there is indeed a vagina in Watch Dogs 2:

A reader who asked not to be named sent in this image of the same character:

It seems bizarre that Sony would ban you for taking a screenshot of something that appears within one of the games it allows on its platform. But that's vaginas for you, something that must be hidden away under pain of the banhammer.

Until Sony accepts that vaginas are totally a thing that some people have, it's probably best not to share any screenshots of them you might take in Watch Dogs 2.

Of course, it's not just Sony who has a complicated relationship with sex.

There have been fully modeled dicks in video games for ages and people don't get fucking banned. Hell, even Firewatch had a drawing of a dick in the beginning! What sexist bullshit.

Wishing leads to ambition and ambition leads to motivation and motivation leads to me building an illegal rocket ship in my backyard.

This. If there are dicks in a game everyone's like "ew, lol", but god forbid you put female genitalia in a game! Then it's "What kind of sexist pervert thought this was okay!?"

That's an F in the profile pic

well, in their defense. Their code of conduct IS clear.

even if they fuck up, they do have a clause that you have conciously agreed to not break. Also, it is their service and they can do whatever the fuck they want.

@SteveGrabowski0 Might be a good idea to put the images behind a spoiler tag, that way people can get the bulk of your information without scrolling through the images themselves.

Still, the fact that this is getting people banned on PSN is pretty absurd. Mostly because it's not Sony's fault that a Ubisoft employee let this slip through. They have no business trying to police what people post online, over a game made available on several platforms. The fact that someone used a playstation to get the screenshot is irrelevant.

Besides, Watch Dogs 2 already received a Mature 17+ rating from the ESRB http://www.esrb.org/ratings/Synopsis.aspx?Certificate=34635&Title=Watch+Dogs+2+ . Any parent that complains about this, are at fault themselves for purchasing the game for their child in the first place.

The question shouldn't be, why do the female characters have vaginas.

Instead it should be, why are they wearing crotchless panties??

I see lots of women in real life, and unfortunately, very few vaginas

You are indeed correct. Just did some research (more than Kotaku apparently) and the Goron2000 person is the same person using the Swizzasaur twitter handle. They didn't establish this themselves, as they worded it as "On Twitter Swizzasaur also claims to have suffered the same fate" as if it's a different person, receiving a similar ban. Turns out, it's one guy that got banned. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=224469855&postcount=28

Kotaku really needs to learn how to research. This is indeed a bannable offense once they use that Hashtag and bring Sony into the mix themselves.
