6700K is overkill for OP's needs

EDIT: Also 16GB of RAM would be far more noticeable in everyday tasks than 6700K vs 6600K

Make sure not to forget to include the cost of the OS in your budget. If you're just going to be installing some form of linux, good job you don't need to add anything, but if you want windows or something like that make sure to keep that in mind. Here's something I threw together really quick that includes windows:

I was thinking about saying that, but those always seem a little sketchy. But yes, that is another option.

Curious as to why you went Xeon

its an i7 6700 without the iGPU, the regular i7 6700 and very cheap entry-level mobo is the same price but the xeon will be paired with a much better mobo at that price, so i went with the xeon for the better mobo.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700@3.8Ghz Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Zotac GTX 1070ti Mini RAM: Qidian DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: MSI X370 Gaming Plus case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W
