Help... Toaster. What do I do?

Hello,

I bought this PC 1 and a half year ago, and it has started to lag beyond belief, I have no idea what to do. I have tried disabling some Windows 10 features such as Superfetch. I've tried reinstalling Windows 10. I use it to play games and nothing more because I work on my MacBook Air. I'm so desperate I'm almost willing to sell it...
Anyway, it's a Gigabyte Q226n with a GT-740m, i5 4200m, 750GB 3Gb/s and 16GB of ram.
I should most likely upgrade the HDD to an SSD, but I don't really have that kind of money (hello student life) to spend on a 500GB ssd. It also has a mSATA slot, but I'm not sure how it'll work out.
Anyway, thanks for your help.

I've read everywhere that it makes it run worse... Weird. I'll try re-enabling Superfetch then.

It makes your ram a hdd cache. If you let it sit there for 10-30min, its going to be much faster as all the programs you use lots are now in ram.

They're normal, I guess. It never gets uncomfortably hot.

When does it lag?

Always x) "System" is almost always to a 100% when I do almost nothing, also when I game (WoW), the game freezes sometimes and crashes, but doesn't always happen.

Well that doesn't mean anything, a laptop can feel cool, while the CPU and GPU runs at 90c or above. What are the temps on the CPU and dGPU

CPU's are 53°c and 54°c, the fan isn't spinning atm. Cannot find GPU temps tho, I'm gonna keep searching

under load? High temps makes the lifespand of a laptop go down fairly fast

Well, I have 4 Chrome tabs open, the League Of Legends launcher and a YouTube video running, so I don't really consider that underload ^^

what did you test it with? That seems rather low.

Also how long warranty do you have on it? Some countries have 2 years by law.

It could be that your HDD is fucked.

I wanted to run Heaven but it wouldn't launch so I used a game. Not I'm re-running Heaven, don't know how but it worked an CPU temps are a bit lower and GPU is going from 48°c to 52°c

this is one of those cases where I would love to have it in my hands, so I could take a look at it.

Try to put it under load for 1-2 hours and see what the temps are. I had a Asus where the quad core where pretty much done after 2 years, because it got 90c under load

Do you have a very demanding game or a benchmark?
