Gaming PC at 1920x1080 resolution

Hello, I am new here so please no rude comments. thanks!

i am planning to buy my first custom build gaming PC at 750-800USD
Specs:
Motherboard: MSI 990FXA-GD65 V2
Processor: AMD FX 8350 Black Edition
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB kit (2x8GB) DDR3 1866Mhz
GPU: MSI GAMING GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5
HDD: Western Digital 1 TB 7200RPM (2 pieces, 1 for games, 1 for movies and stuff)
SSD: Kingston 120GB SSD V300 SATA 3
PSU: EVGA 600W 80+ Bronze
Casing: Thermaltake Commander MSI Snow Edition
Fans: 5 (4 bought, 1 comes with the case) 120mm fans

I am asking if which do i choose between thermal pad or thermal compound, take note that i am not into overclocking my CPU

and ill be buying 4 120mm fans for the case, 2 on top, 1 for bottom, 1 for front. Which of the fans should be intake and exhaust?
i dont have the budget to maintain a liquid cooling system and i repeat, i am NOT into overclocking :)

one more thing is i am a bit paranoid of static electricity since this is my first build, any suggestions where should i work when assembling it and how do i ground myself

i know the specs are kinda good but i am only going to use a 21" HDTV as a monitor and i am not a hardcore gamer that plays the latest games

what im planning to play on this rig is Witcher 3, AC Syndicate, Black Flag, AC III, Dota 2, Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, GTA V and COD Warfare series.

i have bought a windows 10 Pro 64-bit

thanks for those who answer nicely! :)

thermal compound/paste

thanks for the answer, any tips on how to apply the thermal compound?

1) thermal pads are for memory chips, thermal paste for CPU and GPU chips.

2) top and rear should be exhaust, front and bottom and side for intake.

3) you don't need liquid cooling, just get a 212 evo, it is cheap and quieter than stock and performs well

4) ground yourself by touching a large metal object like the case every few seconds and before handling components like GPU and motherboard and CPU.

Work on a non-metal table and preferably not on carpet.

5) welcome :)

There are tons of videos online on how to do this. I'm too lazy to link but a quick search on youtube for "CPU thermal compound" will net you lots of results.

When in doubt, re-format.

thanks for the suggestion on parts, but unfortunately most of the merchants don't ship here in my country, Philippines (please no racist comments lol) so i am buying on amazon. if there are shops that you know ships to PH, i would gladly look into it :)

Because at least a couple people are going to ask you, Why go AMD for your chip?

Also just to clarify on your Western Digital drives, I highly recommend the WD Blacks just because they are built to last longer than most other drives

Also Static Dissipation isn't *really* a big thing to worry about normally. Take your socks off before building, don't rub your feet on a shag carpet, wear as little polyester as possible if you're really freaked out about it.

and/or go and pick up an ESD wrist strap, tie it around your ankle and clip it to your computer case or another grounded piece of steel and you should be good. Also do not touch any contact surfaces/pins and try to avoid touching exposed circuit boards whenever possible.

Luke and Linus have excellent videos regarding safe PC building on the Channel. The older PC Build Guides are generally better because they took a bit more care about safety, now they're proficient enough that things like ESD safety are just commonplace

it's less to do with the case and more to do with the motherboard and the height of your ram sticks
