Thats, like wtf xD. It was a quite stupid name to use, but nonetheless i believe this were quite the hefty measures over a wifi network name. Well, better luck next time for him then. He could have named DonutsForFree and get prosecuted nonetheless, so meh, human stupidity and stupidity in laws are truly infinite.

"it was just a joke!"
Sorry but that defense doesn't work, he should've known better than to use a name like that. That's like people making fake terrorist threat to airports "just a joke!". But law enforcement can't just ignore a possible threat, because if they did ignore them, one day it will be real and no one will react to prevent it.

Wasting everybody's time on a fake threat is not just a "joke", it's criminal. In his case, even if it was just his wifi's name, it can still be seen as a threat/allegiance to the terrorist group. He should consider himself lucky to have only gotten 3 months.

How sjw of you. I wonder if a feminist was complaining about a network name and someone got fined for it if you would still keep the same opinion.

This is ridiculous. Its poor taste and not a very funny joke but that is not a crime.

I used to intern somewhere where there was a WiFi network called "ISIS group" or something, but that was because their company was called that (and formed before the whole ISIS thing blew up.. No pun intended). I wonder if they could get prosecuted where I live..

You don't think someone should be punished for broadcasting the name of an organization that has cause all kinds of harm to the public, and I disagree.

That's all there is to it.

so if i say it in public i can go to prison for 3 months?

how retarded do you have to be to compare this to a bomb threat?

a bomb threat actually costs a ton of money, cuz they have to clear and search the whole building.

Or how about...

*boards flight to the middle east* (or anywhere effective, also may bring other friends)

*opens laptop*

*connects to wifi* (or sets up wireless LAN with friends on same flight)

*connects to a CS:GO match*

*cranks laptop speakers up*

..... :P

I really doubt you would be able to play CS:GO together without having connection to Steam servers.

3 Months in jail, no, and as people have pointed out he's unlikely to get it. But the scare of having charges pressed, plus whatever the man's relatives have to say is enough to encourage the guy not to do it again.

It took a little time, but I was able to run a multiplayer game of L4D2 among my three PCs (connected via WLAN) under the same account entirely offline (no Internet connection). It took some console commands to do it, though it stands to reason CS:GO should work similarly.

That wasn't making fun of isis. The name wasn't "daeshcansuckmydick" :P

It was attempting, perhaps half-assedly, to impersonate them.

If the SSID actually was daeshcansuckmydick I would have laughed xD

The real terrorist is his "neighbor". I'd stay the fuck away from him.

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.

The word daesh is making fun of Isis. People in the middle East started using it because it sound like an arabic word meaning oppressor and isis hates the word daesh and say they will cut the tongues of anyone that uses that word
