Around here, Prius's are not considered "girly" - they're considered "pretentious liberal" mobiles.

 

I'd drive one if I won it or was given it. I wouldn't specifically buy one though - if I were going to buy a Hybrid, there are other options that I would consider first.

Haha personally, I'm totally fine with someone owning a Prius!

 

For me, personally though, I'd rather look at something a bit larger and nicer, that sacrifices a bit on fuel economy for other benefits, such as the Toyota Camry hybrid, or Ford Fusion hybrid. Heck, VW has recently been selling Hybrid versions of the Jetta (I own a 2.0L regular Gasoline Jetta from 2014), and a few other models as well - though after the whole Diesel thing, I'm not sure I'll ever buy a VW again, even if I personally was 100% unaffected.

What do these other cars do better than a Prius that you'd prefer them?

My friend's sister had a Prius and I thought it looked ok.  No idea what year it was though.

The newer ones do look better since they added a flare design to the edges.  I actually don't mind the look of the compact one.

Mostly features for the price, more power, and the ride itself. My fiancee has a 2005 Camry, and her mom has a 2010 Fusion, and both are super smooth to ride in. Not like driving a Honda Civic or a Golf or anything - in those cars you feel every little bump in the road.

You can not go on a road trip in a Prius.

If you want something manly, you need to step up your game, and step into a 1/2 ton truck, crew cab, 4x4. Then upgrade to 35" BFG A/T's and a 5" lift, power step bars, ARB air lockers, moulded floor mats.

That's quite an irrational statement.

 

Why?

 

A Prius, while not super roomy, can easily accommodate 3 adults plus a decent amount of luggage (Although anyone sitting in the back is not likely to be super comfy) - and you could squeeze 4 adults in one reasonably well. And because the Prius is a hatchback, you've got plenty of luggage space. And the range on a Prius is quite good - getting you 850km or more in range (depending on model).

That makes sense.  Having a more comfy and feature rich ride would be nice.

Truck = nope for me.    I personally don't like them.  Not enough passenger space and an open truck bed is a no no in my mind unless you're hauling large items like furniture.  

 

Nothing wrong with other people enjoying trucks though of course.  This is just my preference.

Never been a fan of Porsche's - I don't like the aesthetic they use. I respect that others may quite enjoy it, but it's not for me.
