here's what I've got so far; http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/JnjTr7 .

-the aftermarket cooler isn't necessary, it's not an AMD cpu

-Kingston SSD is terrible and there are better ones out there that cost the same

-those seagate drives are being replaced with a newer version with green labels. i'd stick to WD for now

-you can easily go for more than a GTX 950 with your budget

-bad tier PSU

i5-6500 / GTX 1060 6GB / 275GB SSD

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor  ($267.00 @ Shopping Express)
Motherboard: Asus H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($80.00 @ CPL Online)

^Has more USB ports at the back compared to the Gigabyte H110M-H
Memory: G.Skill NT Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2133 Memory  ($49.50 @ Newegg Australia)
Storage: Crucial MX300 275GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($97.00 @ Shopping Express)

^a 120gb SSD will fill up fast and will only fit like a couple of your favorite games

^i didnt want to skimp on the other components so i removed the hard drive. 275GB SSD space should still be enough headroom while you save for a 1TB hdd
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1060 6GB 6GB WINDFORCE OC 6G Video Card  ($355.00 @ Shopping Express)

^1060s on AU are usually $390 and up, I'd grab this now while it's on sale

^easy 100+ fps on overwatch Ultra settings, can run pretty much every game on 1080p 60fps avg
Case: Silverstone PS11B-W ATX Mid Tower Case  ($59.00 @ CPL Online)

^the N300 isn't terrible but the internals are outdated so i chose this for the same price: Review - https://youtu.be/6qz2ldrb_sw
Power Supply: Corsair CXM 450W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply  ($85.00 @ CPL Online)

^higher quality PSU with semi-modular, all black cables. cheapest good quality PSU i could find. dont skimp on this!

^only 450W but components nowadays are power efficient and your whole system wont consume over 250W
Total: $992.50

Hi all,

Recently decided I want to build my own PC, I ideally want it to run games like Overwatch, nothing too far above that calibre really. Just wanted to run my build by a few people with far greater knowledge of the industry than me, any changes you guys would make I am more than happy to adopt, just trying to stick in a roughly $1000 budget. Also not 100% if everything is compatible, but here's what I've got so far; http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/JnjTr7 .

Thanks a bunch!

Will

Get a better PSU, 500W B2 perhaps. Get a 460 instead (Or wait for the 1050 ti prices to stabilize).

Edit: You can afford a better GPU. You could squeeze in a 1060, but I would just get a 470 and a better PSU.

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

Since you can afford $1000 take this- http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/P7Zp3F

Sorry I worded it pretty poorly, I was considering more around $1000 with keyboard and mouse of a decent quality, thank you though!

I think this is just about what you're looking for. RGB hybrid mechanical keyboard and optical mouse with good sensor.
Cooler Master Lite L Wired Gaming Keyboard w/Optical Mouse  ($79.00 @ CPL Online)
