I can confirm the game looks and runs amazing. I am running ultra at 1440p and I easily get over 120FPS. It also runs very well on a fx6300 and 7950

As an owner of a GTX 660, I really appreciate a comparison showing it and the new cards in one screen, especially since most benchmarks only show one or two generations of cards at once.

A 1070 is probably pretty comparable to a 980 Ti.

 

I don't understand the DRM issues.  Can someone explain that to me?  I had Origin games on my old PC, built a new one, and everything transferred over without issue.  Shouldn't the games be linked to the Origin account and not the hardware in the computer?

I won't lie.  I was a little surprised the RX 470 can run Battlefield 1 at 4K ultra.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

CPU benchmarks are useless cause MP is much more CPU intensive. In MP games with 64 players i5's will drop below 60 fps.

Otherwise just don't bother calling it a "CPU test" because it will have absolutely nothing to do with the CPU.

 

Very frustrating to see such a disgrace on my favorite YouTube channel. I may sound disproportionately upset, and perhaps that is true... but I'm a big fan of your guys' and you've taught me much about computers. I've watched literally every video on the channel and I love watching your daily videos... I hold you guys to a standard of reporting that you also hold yourselves to.... and you fell WAAAAAAAYYY short of the mark on this video, particularly when it comes to the "CPU test" portion of it.... those results showed absolutely nothing relevant to a CPU.

I think when they saw GTX 660 performance as "good enough for 1080p Ultra", logical conlusion drawn was that a Titan XP would be fine (even on Ultra 4K to test CPU).

Of course you saw no difference going from 4GB to 8GB while playing at 4K Ultra on a low end card like the RX 480! That is an obscenely GPU-limited scenario that does not reveal the vram's limits whatsoever.

 

In order for this comparison to be meaningful you need to take away the GPU as a variable. Use two high end GPUs of reasonable similarity but massively different VRAM, and ones that you know can actually run the game well at that resolution -- I would immediately be drawn to the Fury X and 1070 or 980 Ti for this. Fury X Crossfire extremely formidable for 4K, but sometimes games that do not manage vram in a remotely efficient way cripple it.

 

This could have been such a valuable comparison and test, but it wasn't because you chose crap-tastic cards to test it with.

If it makes you feel any better they're likely using the same high end lots of cache cpu and just disabling cores.

I'm okay with them doing that. Largely speaking cache isn't going to make a notable difference in game. Lets assume they're using a 6950X which has 25MB cache and they tune it down to match an i3 6100, but it now is an i3 6100 with 25MB of cache.... that doesn't really make an impact in gaming so far as I'm aware. and even if it did make a difference it would likely be only a couple fps, which is well within margin of error anyway.

 

I would rather they use a 6950X to simplify their testing and allow them to include everything, rather than leaving certain chips/models out simply because it would be a pain in the ass to have to dial everything in correctly on every chip and every setup and every everything. This also gives them the flexibility to make "artificial" cpu's so they can compare things like core/thread counts rather than specific CPU models. Run everything at a flat 4GHz and see what happens (or something to that effect)

the rant about EA DRM was very unprofessional, childish and disrespectful to your viewers

you should take whatever beef you have with EA and figure it out between you two

the DRM does what it is suppose to do - prevent people from sharing the games on different hardware for better or for worse it affects people that do benchmarking on numerous hardware configuration

Nicely done! Best benchmark video of a new game you've done. Easy to follow, Graphs that were easy to read. Relevant information. Good conclusions. Liked the inclusion of a GTX660, could be a nice thing to keep testing something like a 660 or similar in future videos

I get 70 fps on average on ultra 1920x1080 with my msi 1060, Intel Core i7 4770k and 8gb DDR3. Other tests with 1060 gets around 100 fps. What do I need to upgrade or what is wrong?

JUST SAYING: whenever i play a multiplayer map where there is FOG the CPU load (Core i7-4770K@4.2ghz) jumps in the 85 to 95% range...previously UNSEEN in ANY other AAA titles that i've played...BF1 is tremendously CPU AND GPU intensive game...make my powersupply want to melt... :(
