[Build Log] OscillosC: The Unordinary PC *SOLD*

Nice build! What would have been ultra cool is having a terminal display on the CRT, and maybe some nixie tubes.

Yeah :) but those connectors in the crt were so old and weird to me that i decided to leave it without picture. Someone could have had the interest to look up all the voltages and stuff.. But that would have taken so many hours and days to find some kind of guide to do that :) And those tubes are not completely forgotten idea :) I might someday look in to it a little more. Maybe.

I've got some experience with (audio)tubes, and after giving the CRT a thought (we talked about it when I was visiting the op) I reckoned it would be one helluva job..

You'd need to design & build a controller for the CRT, something that would take VGA in, do its magic and control the crt. Even if u knew the voltages/pin outs, id say it would be very difficult. But would've been damn cool tho ;)

Current rig: i7-5820K, R5E, 1070ti (windows), Radeon HD7850 (Mac), a bunch of SSDs and HDDs, running MacOS Mojave, Windows 10 + a bunch of debian servers on Proxmox KVM hypervisor

Laptop: MacBook Pro 13" 2017

Previous projects: Razmac G5, Server, zenbox HTPC

[uPDATE PICS]

So here it is at my dads house. It is temporarily on some kind of shelter (An old one where they used to sell train tickets in the past) It is up there because his router isn't so good and his house is very toughly built :D But i got it up and running now here too. It is attached to a samsung 32" tv in the bedroom. Good for internet tv :)

Very nice build. I like how it looks. I was hoping that you will be able to make that CRT function but I guess that you wouldnt have space to mount your MoBo then.

Anyway, really nice. I enjoyed watching it.

Thank you! And yeah... That crt is just too hard for me. Maybe there could be some small lcd behind the glass? :D

If youre up to challenge then go for it. But bringing up CRT feel with LCD panel will be really hard.

But it looks really nice even without it.
