Sapphire NITRO+ RX 480 4GB vs 8GB

So, is the extra 4GB worth 40 USD or so it costs more?

If the 40USD extra isn't too big of a problem, then there's no reason to get the 4gb one.

nah.. I dont think its worth. you're probably gonna run games on 1080p so... I doubt there is any need for 4 gig more on that card, only if you gona use 2 monitors then yes. I think before games are gonna use more than 4 gig of vram the 480 its gonna be outdated.. but that's just my opinion

Get the 8GB version, it is worth 100% of the extra cost, at 2560x1080p Rainbow Six Siege uses 5.6GB of Vram and BF1 uses 4.9GB

Yeah....No....maybe. i have no stutter, no vram issues,nothing. What your gpu uses and what it needs is not the same unfortunately....or happily for us, not the same.

You are still fine with 4gb @1080p.

 

Rather than buying the sapphire I would get the msi variant. It is soooooo much quieter. It costs more here, but I would still much rather have that.

I'd get the 8G model just for the extra memory bandwidth, it helps.

If you're going to upgrade to a better card within 2 years i suggest save some money and grab that 480 4GB.

$40 seems a bit much for 4gb vram, unless you're playing games on higher resolutions with high vram usage.
