$450 Build List Help

Hello,

I am working on designing a parts list for my friend and am having some trouble. He needs it to be $450, have an i5 or amd equivelant, and both a pcie x1 and pcie x16 MOBO slot. And preferably a mini tower or similar size.

This build will be for gaming and capturing with an elgato game capture pro card.

Ive been working on this for about a week so please dont suggest pc partpicker searching.

use pcpartpicker and check the build guides there. In saying that, I recommend your friend saves another 150$ and then goes for it. 450$ isn't that much and the extra money would go a long way in performance.

I would definitely advise waiting until your friend can spend $700 on the computer, but if it can't be helped.

no cooler needed because the wraith cooler on the 8350 is actually very good for overclocking

It seems everyone is recommending fx 8000 series cpus because your freind wants to record gameplay. From first hand experiance a stock fx8320 can only handle a soft 720p output without sh*tting itself. Thankfully both nvidia and AMD have solutions to utilise the gpu for this(shadowplay for nvidia and plays.tv for amd)

The build came in at $500 not including the OS, but there are plenty of ways to get that cheap/free. If your freind can scrap together another $50 this will be a very good entry build. However as I seem to be telling everyone; used gtx 780s go for $100-$125 dollars on ebay, so if you are willing to go used you can bring down the cost right to budget.

Oh crap just noticed the elgato. Yeah your not going to have a problem with recording, since you have a hardware encoder the video will always look good, as long as you are playing on mid-high game settings no-viewer will be able to tell.

I would replace the APU with the newest Athlon(880k, no iGPU) and put the money towards getting a better GPU(Not saying the 460 is bad, just there are stronger cards out there.)

Current System: CPU - I5-6500 | Motherboard - ASRock H170M-ITX/ac | RAM - Mushkin Blackline 16GB DDR4 @ 2400mHz | GPU - EVGA 1060 3GB | Case - Fractal Design Nano S | Storage - 250GB 850 EVO, 3TB Barracuda | PSU - EVGA 450W 80+ Bronze | Display - AOC 22" 1080p IPS | Cooling - Phanteks PH-TC12DX_BK | Keyboard - Cooler Master QuickFire Rapid(MX Blues) | Mouse - Logitech G602 | Sound - Schiit Stack | Operating System - Windows 10

The OG System: I3-2370M @ 2.4 GHz, 750GB 5400 RPM HDD, 8GB RAM @1333Mhz, Lenovo Z580 Laptop (Ubuntu 16.04 LTS).

Peripherals: G602, AKG 240, Sennheiser HD 6XX, Audio-Technica 2500, Oneplus 5T, Odroid C2(NAS).

i think there is a lot to change..

880k is cheaper than A10 and a litte bit faster

for 110 $ you can go for the I3 6100, in games it's A LOT faster than the 880K

and i will just wait the 1050ti, it's only 10$ more expensive, but  faster.

This is what I'd recommend, especially since it will leave room to upgrade to Kaby Lake since it uses the 1151 socket.

brah, an a10 7850k can't even beat a pentium sometimes, no way its an equivalent cpu to an i5.
