Both are okay over all, but for the first one, switch it to a H170 or a B150 board to save some money.

On the first build, I'd suggest changing the motherboard to something like the MSI H110M Gaming, it's around $40 cheaper and is still very good for that CPU choice since you don't need the Z170 chipset. As well, if you want to get better gaming performance, I'd suggest changing the SSD to a 120gb variant. That should save you another $20 or so. With the new $60 you have obtained, I'd suggest spending around $20-30 of it getting a GTX 1060 6GB instead of an RX480, since the performance is around 7-10% better right now (although with DX12 that will change most likely). The other $30 could be used to get a 6600k if you're greedy, although you won't be able to overclock it on the H110 board.

MSI GE72 Apache Pro-242 - (5700HQ : 970M : 16gb RAM : 17.3" : Win10 : 1TB HDD : Razer Anansi : Some mouse) - hooked up to a 34UM58-P (WFHD) in dual screen

iPad Air 2 (for school)

iPhone 6

Xbox One Forza 6 Limited Edition Blue

Yeah. You could get a cheap[er B150 mobo and it wouldn't make too much of a difference.

Comments on 1st build:

V300 SSDs are terrible, get this https://pcpartpicker.com/product/D28H99/sk-hynix-sl308-120gb-25-solid-state-drive-hfs120g32tnd-n1a2a

This PSU is better and cheaper after rebate https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FQ648d/corsair-power-supply-cp9020101na

Instead of a Core 1000 I would get a NZXT Source 210 (easier cable management, more space, actual hard drive cages instead of an ugly looking panel)

I don't trust those 4 fans, get 2 AF120s from Corsair, or don't get any because they won't make a big difference.

Comments on 2nd build:

Get the same SL308 SSD since it's better

Get a NZXT 210 again

Get this cheaper RX 470 https://pcpartpicker.com/product/gt7CmG/xfx-radeon-rx-470-4gb-triple-x-video-card-rx-470p4sfd5

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here
