Unfortunately Nvidia SLI does not come cheap as the manufactures have to purchase a licence to be able to sell it on their motherboards, I very much like Asus motherboards as I have never had a problem with them so personally I would suggest the Asus Z170-E as that has Nvidia SLI and USB 3.0.

Recent motherboardsas of May 2016 that support it are Intel's Z and X series chipsets (Z68, Z77, Z87, Z97, Z170, X79 and X99) and AMD's 990FX chipset. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scalable_Link_Interface

You should be fine with any Z170 Mother board. The MSI Z170M Mortar would fit with your graphics card.

GTX 1060's don't support SLI

Change the PSU to a Corsair CXM 450w,550w (Grey Unit) and your first PSU of choice is quite bad

how about no sli support?

If you opt out for SLI support you would be able to get one much cheaper, if you are on a tight budget and you need a cheap and cheerful motherboard I would suggest the Asus B150M-A.

As a side note, if you go with B150 chipset, you will limit the ability to overclock. If you don't plan on overclock you might be able to save a bit and go for a non-K processor.

Also if you was to not overclock you can also just use the stock cooler as that would work just fine.

You have DDR3 in that... you need DDR4 if you are going Skylake, and any Z170 board that has what you want will do fine if you stick to Asus or Gigabyte, EVGA, other brands are alright too I guess. I'd go 750 or 850 watt EVGA for the PSU as well.

You seen confused about your build.

If you are on a budget, you can get any h110 motherboard (just check how many usb 3 porta it has), a non k processor (6400~6600), you dont NEED to buy a cooler (but its a nice adition, and doesnt have to be expensive)

A GTX 1060 is a good choice, and your PSU is fine (if you are not getting an overclockable CPU)

Ultra is stupid. ALWAYS.

so should i get a non overclock-able CPU (not the k series) so that the motherboard is cheaper and i should get a ddr4 ram instead? also, is the i5-6600 still a good choice for a non overclock-able gaming CPU or is there something more powerful than 3.3ghz?
