Should I Care About Fan Headers When Buying Mother Board?

Hey guys,

for my new PC I decided to pick a Gogabyte HD3P Z170 mobo.

Yesterday I decided on CPU cooler and noticed I can add 2nd fan to it.

I realized my mobo have only 1 header for CPU and 3 for case fans. Do you think I should take another mobo or just buy a fan controller in case I really need the extra fan on the CPU heatsink?

Thanks!

Fan controller or Y-adapter should suffice if it's PWM.

I personally prefer a fan hub because it makes cable management much easier and cleaner.

Any recommendeations? The 5.25" ones look pretty decent

But won't it decrease the speed, becuase the current is limited?

Depends on your build, I like to have enough for my fans.

It's 6700K build, no GPU (yet). Probably 3 case fans and two CPU fans are more than enough. (my case, nzxt s340 probably, comes with 2 fans)/

There's a lot of good front panel controllers, my wife has the NZXT Sentry Mesh and it's pretty basic but works great.

I'm using a internal PWM hub.  I like it because better than a manual controller because the motherboard adjusts the speed according to the temps.
