Some might not get the problem with the cable. There is the obvious tripping on it but that huge cable is a really nice antenna for picking up every tiny signal that is polluting your everyday life

I don't want to hear it, but I definitely want it to look good, for years my PC was a pile of shit old "white" case from the local PC repair shop that I purchased my first parts from back on 02 which was subsequently flooded around 06 and spent the next 10 years with icky sticky flood water garbage remnants all over the case, now I'm building what will be the Living Room VR rig, I want it to look as good as everything else in my living room is going to (after I finish my remodel).

With over 8 billion people on earth, one can assume the probability of you being the only one to be rather small than large.

That said, I love nice looking PC rigs ;P

To be honest, if I had a good enough laptop and a VR headset, i would totally do this as I know what its like being tethered to a Playstation VR and it must be more anoying for the Vive and the Rift as you can actually move around a bit with them ones.

As I understand, the ChargeTech power bank was to power up the VR.

Does your laptop not throttle without a powerbank for it, or when not connected to a power brick? 
If not, how?
Planning on doing this kind of setup with my laptop, but I noticed that frames drop on games if not connected to a charger.

These things are heavy AF! I suppose that you're mostly using the harness. The metal air tank isn't completely necessary... Can you post picks when it's done? I'm very curious.

my plan was always to take a laptop and buy a power bank with a 24v plug out and have a laptop plugged in so it runs at full power for as long as the power bank stays charged. I have a Windows mixed reality headset and I could be completely untethered at that point. it may only work for about an hour or two but that's more than enough time to have complete freedom that I can take anywhere.

that was a question I asked when I first watched the video I just brought this video back up because I got my hands on a older gaming laptop that can play VR. the only problem is is without the power bank plugged in there's not enough power going to the headset to power it properly. the only reason I know this is that the preview of the game is buttery-smooth but the headset itself is very laggy. I ran through pretty much every option I can think of to what could be wrong and it's down to the laptop not putting out enough power through the USB port on battery.
