Mounting backplate for LGA 775?

Brian McKee
Go to solution Solved by Brian McKee,

I figured it out close pls

The be Quiet! instructions are telling me to put the plastic thing in the middle, but it isn't clear in which orientation that I lay the backplate.

Is this correct?

I don't see any difference in those pics. Any plastic things will be placed between mobo and backplate to prevent shorting. And LGA775 is square so you just align holes with bracket.

775 uses the smallest (closest to the center of bracket) mounting holes. prolly meant closest to the middle of the bracket and not the middle mounting holes.

The second one as then the plastic supports the bracket away from the pcb.make sure it's not contacting any components though

Would it have a specific giant WARNING for that? lol

Both of them push the backplate away from the board.

That's kinda the idea. Backplate and screws are those which lock cooler in place.
