Anyone else feel like this?

I somewhat WANT my PC hardware to die, so I can have an excuse and clear conscience to upgrade >.>

It runs all the games at low-high settings depending on the game / Crossfire support.

But just wondering how much faster everything would be on a new hardware set. 6700k & 1070 gtx ^_^xD

Bought all parts Second-hand 3 years ago, and they JUST KEEP ON GOING. xD

AMD Ryzen R9 5900X  | Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360  |  GIGABYTE X570S AERO G  |  2x32GB G'skill TridentZ 4000MHz  | MSI RX 6900 XT Gaming Z Trio 16GB Dark Base Pro 900 (Orange)  | TOSHIBA 4TB 3.5" Drive - Game Drive | Crucial MX200 250GB 2.5" SSD - Boot Drive | Cooler Master V750 PSU |

Living Room PC: AMD Ryzen 2400G | MSI RX VEGA 56 8GB AERO | 2x8 GB Crucial Ballistix 2400MHz | Intenso 250GB SSD | Seagate 500 GB HDD | Node 202 + 850W PSU |

Or you know, sell the parts and use the money to buy a new system that way you save some money :)

Just buy a cat. That will teach your hardware.

Seriously, have you ever seen a glass survive a day on the counter when the cat's around?

My guess is you'll feel just as guilty still if you knowingly kill it yourself... just sell it!

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Nuke Explosion..gif

Problem solved....

Anyway. Would say you can start with a GPU upgrade first. Meanwhile you can wait till Kaby/Zen comes and either go with new gen stuff if it's worth it or go current gen Intel for lower price.

I don't think you can set a nuclear explosion small enough to kill just the PC...

If my hardware died, I'd be fucked. I have no money to replace any of the expensive components.

Well, simply wanting better performance seems to me like a valid excuse to upgrade your PC, assuming you can afford it without making too many compromises on other things.

Sort of.  I have no pressing need to upgrade my CPU, but I think when Zen drops I'll do it anyway.  Going to run some benchmarks before/after to see what tangible performance gains there are.

I'm in the same boat. If I were to lose hardware now, I'd be completely fucked unless warranty saved my ass. Like I could replace the mobo alone, if I could find a good Z97 board second hand, and I might even be able to replace the CPU with like a 4690k or 4790k if I absolutely had to. But if like my loop leaked all over the place or I lost my GPU? Yeah, I'd be without a decent PC for a long time.

I could buy more if I had to but I really don't want to... our currency is still terrible so for every $200 or so of actual product you buy, you flush another $100 down the toilet for no reason.

This: sell parts.  Make money.  That way you defray the cost of new parts and maybe your parts go to loving new home.  ?
