Razer, worth the hype?

I'm starting to look into a matching mouse and keyboard with RGB settings. I've known about the Razer Chroma forever, but is it really worth it? I have found that Razer tends to be a bit pricy compared to other brands. I like the mechanical feel and am looking into the Blackwidow Chroma because of its extra hot keys on the left hand side. As for the mouse, I like the Deathadder Chroma. I don't want to fall into the hype if the products are not high quality. Are there other brands you would suggest? Or do you enjoy your Razer products?

I have Mamba Chroma TE, Blackwidow X Chroma TE, and Firefly mouse pad. 

 

Blackwidow fits my taste kinda well. Firefly is pricey but serves its purpose nicely.

 

But Mamba.. I regret buying it. For mouse I'm sticking with Logitech G900 / G502.

 

I think just avoid the mouse and niche headset and you'll be fine.

I've never had a problem with any Razer hardware that I currently own. Now i'm sure that there's a product that is better but I just like the overall look of the Razer products and they function just fine.

 

I have a Razer Naga 2014, Razer BlackWidow Ultimate and Razer Blackshark 2.0 headset. The Naga hasn't given me any problems for the roughly 2 years that I have had it. I've had the keyboard for a year plus and that hasn't given me any problems either, works and looks like as if it were new. The headset has worked fine for me as well and I believe I have had that piece the longest, probably 2 and a half years, maybe a little more. I game frequently so I do use all this stuff on a daily basis and I can tell you that while some may say its overpriced, I think if you like the Razer stuff then go for it, you wont be disappointed.

No.

There are simply companies who offer better quality with same price and better customer service. I had rma with razer and logitech. Razer took 3weeks, reps had broken english and told me to try to reinstall synapse when my button was physically broken, i did endup getting a replacement. I had one with logitech for performance mx which lasted like 6years and was sure as shit out of warranty, they replaced it for the mx master free of charge. So from a value point of view, no, no point in buying razer

Uuuuuuuuh that mouse pad is brilliant. Haha, I think I just like the novelty.

I think Razer and Corsair are the only one's with RGB mousepads right now.

 

You definitely have to go hole hog for a single 'system' since software may not sync lighting together otherwise. Reviews say that the Corsair rgb mousepad is better in the lighting depertment. I'm not too fond of the LED they use in their keyboards tho, you can practically see the R G and B shining separately inside each LED and they don't reproduce 'white' properly, probably due to how you can see them separately in the LED. 

 

I don't think Razer is worth the price... or Corsair for that matter. If you wait for a good deal you can get either for near 50% off.

If you like aggressive marketing and supporting a company that spends more on the packaging than on the product, by all means, go Razer, but there is not one thing Razer makes that someone else doesn't make better.

Pretty much what he said.

 

For the keyboard, just get something else but Razer. Take a look at Ducky and CM's keyboards for instance.

For the mouse take a look at the Logitech G403 (it looks a lot better than the G502 and it performs just as good).
