Mic stand help

I need help with getting a mic stand which works on my desk

My desk is too thick to support the clamp for an average mic stand so what can I do to get something that goes on my desk so I can have a mic stand

I know that rhode sells a microphone boom that has a mount you directly drill into the desk.

These are very nice. They have two desk mounting options. One is clamp, the other is.... suction cup? Not sure. Check it out.
