That looks to be a 6-32 screw for installing motherboards and such, you will want to look for the M3 screws which are usually the really tiny ones.

I wasn't aware SSDs used m3 screws, 8 thought it was based on region? I know that in Europe m3 is the standard for mounting motherboards and things that are usually 6-32 in the United States.

You can try threading it in slowly but if it's not M3 it will bind up since 6-32 is a coarse thread
