Samsung teases Galaxy On Nxt. A new smartphone coming soon.

GoodBytes

With the failure of the Note 7, Samsung is quick to reveal a new phone to perhaps replace it (or the Note 8 design, rushed out with Note 7 internals, with a different battery, and new name).

The new phone is called the Galaxy On Nxt.... Catchy...

Not much info is given beside that it will use some Octo-Core CPU, unibody design (it looks like), and that it has all the performance you need.

Quote

Samsung India shared several video teasers on their account along with captions about the devices specifications, revealing the phone sports a full metal unibody, octa-core processor and "all the design you need" - without combustion, which is thoughtful.

Do you think it is too soon for Samsung to reveal any new phone after the disaster Note 7 was? Should they be taking a few months break?

I was still going to get a Note 7 if they fixed the problems now if they release another phone like that with USB C and it doesn't blow up i'm gonna buy it.

Seems like a more budget device. flipkart is primarily for the indian market and the flash/camera layout doesn't match with the note7

I hope it is actually speced better, the Note used to stand out as the large power user phone, now it is a glorified Galaxy with a pen.

This is an India centric mid range device. Not a flagship competitor or sharing internals as the Note 7.

I actually went to Verizon and waited in line to buy the Note 7 the day before the final recall. They were sold out within 500 miles.

I'm done with Samsung after the recent issues. It will be quite some time before I could trust having one of their phones in my hands or my house.

I think that it would be in Samsung's best interest to repent as quickly and strongly as they can.  Q1 2017 will be a year after the S7 release and devices with Snapdragon 830 should be rolling out around then.

In my opinion they need to release a new Phablet with a stylus before they release the S8.  The Note was the go to phablet and there's no true alternative right now.

I said that 5 years ago when I switched to Apple (had serious performance problems even after a factory wipe). It's been quite a while I'd say, and I was just in the market for a new Android device. Gonna have to reset the 'quite some time' timer. I got an Axon 7 for my android fix.

Higher specs would only increase kinetic energy. Makes it even more dangerous.
