UK Government Wants Citizens to Have a "Porn-viewing ID"

In an attempt to stop people under the age of 18 to view pornographic material, the UK government has proposed an ID system for viewing porn online. Each citizen who want to watch porn would get their own ID, which they then have to type in when they want to browse a website which contains porn. There will also be a "great firewall of the UK" which will block websites and attempts to circumvent the ID system.

 

The system will log what porn users view, and the proposal specifies that in order to protect this very sensitive information they will use cryptography (the part of the proposal about how the crypto will work is three sentences long and does not go into any details whatsoever). Anyone who is worried about a potential data leak can rest easy knowing that the proposal outlines such a strong security standard.

 

 

Before anyone tries to hate on this proposal let me remind you that THIS IS FOR THE CHILDREN! UK politicians are notorious for both being, and protecting pedophiles but let's ignore that for a moment and remember that they just want to protect children.

In Australia you have to be 18 to do things...

Clubs/Drinks/All that Jazz....

 

Most people also have a "PROOF OF AGE" card (you can get them at age16), or License (16+ as well)

Both show clearly, your DOB.

So why bother with ANOTHER I.D when there are already an I.D system you can use.

Or even why bother,....Anyone who WANTS to Seriously watch Porn.... can watch & download it for free within 2 minutes on almost any device

People have to learn sex education at some point. Why is there a need to protect children from learning about natural biological processes?

Perhaps we should protect children from learning about electricity until they turn 18 as well, because it is too dangerous for them to understand.

well said. I don't understand society's fear of exposing young children to sex. there's nothing harmful about it, it's our most primal instinct and a completely natural process that 99% of people engage in from a fairly young age.

Porn isnt harming anyone... If anything it helps those who dont have a grilfriend. 

 

Its humanity's fault for telling little kids lies about how children are "created". If they were told the truth from beginning and warned of STDs (without those horrifying images they show to teenagers...) They would be much better off.

The sex education videos we watched at school were terrible animated porn as the teachers were too prude to discuss the mandatory subject matter.

That is in most European countries, for some reason. In Czech Republic, you can have sex at 15, but you can't watch porn until you are 18.

They have already banned some kinks. The rules only apply to porn produced in the UK, but in 2014 they banned, among other things:

Spanking

Face-sitting

Role-play as non-adults

Fisting

Squirting

Physical restrain such as bondage
There were some pretty funny protests afterwards.

I don't think that is correct. I am pretty sure you need to be 18+ to watch porn here in Sweden too, despite our age of consent being 15.

What makes it even more ridiculous is that the laws here does not separate between real and fiction, so one of the Dead or alive games got blocked because you could see the panties of one of the 16 year old characters.

Fuck real life 15 year old = totally OK.

See the panties of a fictional 16 year old = Not OK (they later changed her age to ?? which made it OK again).
