How to get sponsored for builds?

TubsAlwaysWins

Anyone know how you get sponsored to do custom builds? I think it would be cool to do but highly unlikely. Just curious

I'm just guessing but it's probably based on notoriety and or having a large enough audience. No company will just approach you from out of nowhere and sponsor a build. For sponsors it's all about how it can bring attention to their brand.

System: i7 4790K, Hyper 212 EVO, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix, GTX 1070 Super clocked, MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, Corsair RM 750, Corsair 750D (with 2 additional 140mm NZXT fans up top for exhaust.)

how many build logs have you done?

how many forums are they posted on?

how much interaction do you have with those that follow your progress?

are these straight-forward builds or are they creative with modifications (logged) to the system?

how much attention to detail are they?

Step 1. get hired at microcenter or equivalent tech store

Step 2. find time to review hardware off the clock

Step 3. start youtube channel and post videos of reviews

Step 4. get a shit ton of subscribers

Step 5. ????

Step 6. Profit (or get a dank sponsored PC, either way)

[edit] I considered asking Corsair and Cooler Master for sponsorship when I built my PC because I stream and have a small youtube channel (links in my profile ;) ) and because both corsair and cooler master offer just about everything needed for a PC except a CPU, motherboard, and GPU. (in corsair's case they offer a few hybrid models based off of EVGA cards). But alas, I just didn't bother

Like anything else, nothing happens until you get noticed. I assume you are referring to modding, as that's pretty much the only sponsored projects. First you would need to enter into a bunch of modding contests and consistently place well, and hopefully someone will take notice and sponsor a project for a contest or something.
