Besides the mass storage, this special Kindle will have a few additional software features, like "rapid page turn", which is 33 percent faster than the traditional page-turning effect on regular Kindles, or the ability to skip pages at a rate of 7 pages per seconds via a ”press and hold“ gesture, and a two-page spread layout for viewing pages side-by-side. In the press release, Amazon JP stated that these new software features will be available to other Kindles at the end of Oct via software update.

Looks so cool. Too bad I just posted about 1050 and 1050ti and people are jumping on the bandwagon too soon. I mean ability to read manga comics without direct exposure of rays and unhealthy stuff (at least less than normal screen) is so cool

Is it possible to put books from elsewhere on the device? might get one, for comics and books.

Edit: also are there any other android tablets that do a similar job?

As long as it can read epub file then it's fine

All android tablets and phones can do that with 3rd party app, but the very best app to read e-book is actually Apple's iBook and the best device should be an iPad Mini, I haven't found any better app than that

I have my Nexus 7 set up with Moon+ Reader for ebooks (reads everything from epub to mobi and all things in between), and Manga Rock for my manga needs (if you read scanlations anyway...). Any Android tablet can do the same, you just need a good amount of storage for manga, so SD support would be a plus, or at least a 32GB device.

Yeah i just wanted a bigger screen and use apps like marvel unlimited, also i use manga watcher on my phone but once again i like having a big screen to see more details.

I'm confused, what are talking about with the bandwagon thing?

I'm curious, what makes iBook so much better?

An Amazon Fire tablet works nicely for ebooks.  I've got one I use and I like it.  Sure the screen isn't as sunlight readable as a kindle but it's plenty good and my Fire has more space than a kindle.

Idk if it's all but there's at least one model of Fire tablet that I think has an SD card slot.  Idk what an SD card can be used for though.  If it could be used for ebooks/manga it might be just as good as this manga kindle thing.
