I'm an idiot, need Vista COA please

asand1
Go to solution Solved by asand1,

Nevermind, I'll just install Mint on it and give it to someone as soon as I come up with an extra video card.

I recently upgraded an HP with a newer MOBO (AM3+/DDR3). After the retrofit I started peeling off the Vista sticker, as the PC is running W10. Now I would like to install Vista on the Phenom X4 board again, but I ruined my sticker and don't have my code anymore. If you can help with a COA you are no longer using please PM.

I was thinking of upgrading directly to Windows 10, but I do not believe that works. Windows 7 and above are required, so my method won't work.

People go to links expecting to check out what you're talking about, not have a .EXE they know nothing about download faster than you can blink. Self-executing viruses are still a thing you know.

And I would never link to a program that was malicious. If I don't know if the program is okay, I don't link it like that. If it's fine, I will because nothing wrong will likely happen.

Can't you download vista (idk why) and just not enter a license key? I think you can do the same thing with windows 10. Alternate solution: Install Linux. It works better than windows on older hardware. Ubuntu should be user friendly enough.

I have used Linux for years. I simply wanted to install Vista to play with it.

in situations like this microsoft does put pressure on you to do things against the EULA. I can only think you want vista because drivers are compatible with your hardware. I can tell you that asking others for their COA is unlikely to work. Iv tried it back in the day with Windows XP. your pretty much screwed even if you do get vista activated, because you will be using a discontinued operating system

put it in a virtual machine and snap shot it before the activation trial ends

You can buy new keys just as easy as newer Windows keys. I have one for the same reason, though I have yet to install it on laptop.

No, I'm not giving it to you. I don't like beggars in general.

I'm not begging, and if you don't want to help why not just stay out of the thread? I give stuff I'm not using anymore to people all the time, just check my profile. It's too bad more people don't pass it along rather than hoard their old junk.
