What To Do With An iPad 2?

Orangeator

Okay, so a friend just left my house and gave me a completely formatted iPad 2 with IOS 9.3.5... He said it has just been sitting around his house collecting dust and he said he knew I could at least do something with it. So my question to you guys is, what the hell can I do with this old thing? With nothing on it, it has 27GB of storage, a big flash drive? Lol.

I thought of this but... He gave it to me for free and he is a good friend. That just seems like a dick move.

How could I use it as a second monitor? That sounds pretty interesting.

You'll need an App, and unfortunately none are free;

Jailbreak it!

There is no Jailbreak currently for IOS 9.3.5. Anyways, I am thinking about just using it as a web browsing device next to my keyboard. That way I can always be viewing LTT forum while doing productive work/gaming on my desktop.

Damn. I left the jailbreak scene in 2011 so I'm not updated with this kind of stuff, but I was sure 9.3.5 was hacked becuase iOS 10 is already out...

There was an awesome community behind this back then...

Yeah, I just Googled it. I despise Apple and don't own (till now) any of their products. So that is why I am asking how I could use this somewhat in tandem or as an accessory to my desktop.

Maybe you can use it somehow as a monitor of your PC. Display the temps and loads of your components

You see that would be badass, the problem is... The app costs $20 to use it as an extended display (this is why I hate Apple).

There might be another options. For example, there might be such montoring software for PCs the offers and HTTP server so you can access it over you home network. Which means you can use it with Safari instead of buying this stupid app (what's it's name? I'm just curious...)

PC monitoring software that you connect to from the iPad via Safari? Huh, I wonder if that would actually work? Anyways, yeah the app is called Duet Display.

I'm 100% sure it can work. I'm not sure however if such thing exists.
