I was just wondering what is the best cpu I could put in a 20" 2007 imac?

nothing good. it's too old to be useful, and it wont be worth your time, because macs are very hard to upgrade.

Don't recommend but if I'm not mistaken that imac has a socket "p" , still compatible cpu's lack power

I am not going to start a fan boy war but saying this is very illogical. If you have ever used a mac outside of gaming, the internet, or other basic functions then you know know how nice it is. Having SSH built in has saved me a lot of time instead of say going to PuTTy or some other 3rd party application. Anyways it is an imac so I don't think he can even get a new CPU for it. The Mac Pro you would need a new motherboard. OP just wait for the new mac pros as they are due for an upgrade

Just keeping this here as a But is isn't worth it, A modern pentium, or almost any modern laptop can do better then even the best cpu that that can take, a newer macbook, or imac would be a good upgrade from it.

Apple is way too expensive and makes profit out of noobs that dosnt know shit about computers and buy it for the Logo. Then they wonder why its slow as fuck..

Also , only good reason i see why to buy apple, is for people that likes the OS, style, applications, etc. or have lot of apple product to sync between em... 

Otherwise you can get a pc that will do better video editing for much much less $$$$

So if you want to upgrade ur 2007 imac , buy a pc xD
