How do I remove this?

Anyone got an idea on how to remove this? I need to put the motherboard in a new pc but this is in the way.

You probably need to remove the front plastic bezel of the case and there is likely another screw or two holding the drive bay on. If there isn't it may just be riveted and therefore not removable. This looks like a pre built HP? What type of GPU are you looking to install? It may have size lmits. The PCIe slot looks pretty open there but due to the wires it may not take a full length or double slot card.

Crap... the issue is I can't really go back now so I hope that wasn't my c: drive

I dont think you need to remove that piece to install a gpu.

Just so you know, as the motherboard in these cases mounts upside down, the gpu mounts cooler side up.

That is probably just an additional storage drive but it looks like it just slides in from the front, it's removable for security or to be able to bring it to another PC as if it was an external drive. But again it looks like you shouldn't need to remove that bay for a GPU, the case may just have size limits. What GPU are you wanting to install?

I was just able to test fit a GTX280 (big card) in my hp prebuilt.

To do this I had to temporary remove the 24-pin motherboard power connector and the 4-pin cpu power connector.

That is an external drive that slots in through the front.

You have not broken anything.

I highly recommend you to look up the user manual for your computer.

Late LATE update - I put this all in a new Computer with a 500watt psu. Its got more than enough room but it also has better cooling. The reason I was doing this was so my GPU wouldn't overheat when I eventually get it.
