I still have most of the parts I used in my original build, but I haven't had a completely new system since.

OG PC Specs:

Intel i5 4670K

NZXT Havik 140

ASRock Fatal1ty Z87 Killer

Corsair Vengeance LP (2x4GB)

Seagate Barracuda 1TB

Antec HCG-900

Aerocool Strike-X Advance

Didn't have a GPU to start off with, and after a while the mobo started to show it's cheapness, one of the fins broke on a fan with teh Havik 140 and the case from Aerocool was terrible.

I've made many improvements from when I first made this PC, wishing to get an i7 and 8GB more RAM with an 980 Ti soon.

CPU: Intel i7 8700K | CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3 | RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x8GB | Motherboard: Asus ROG Z370-E | GPU: MSI GTX 970 | HDD: Seagate Barracuda 1TB & 2TB | SSD: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB & 970 EVO M.2 500GB | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Evolv X | PSU: Silverstone Platinum Strider 1100W | Monitor: AOC i2367Fh | Headphones: ATH-M40X | Mic: Antlion ModMic 4 | Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB w/ MX Browns | Mouse: Logitech G502 HERO

Built my first one in Junior year of high school.

Original Spec:

MGE Sidewinder Case

MGE PSU that was total garbage, but hey. I was learning.

AMD Athlon XP 3000+ (400MHz FSB variant)

Gigabyte GA-7N400-L mobo (nForce 2 400 chipset)

512MB of some DDR 400 RAM

Jetway GeForce 2 MX400 64MB yanked from my parents old Gateway

Some old CD-ROM and CD Burner also pulled from that Gateway

Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1, take a guess at what computer I pulled that from

Maxtor (quit laughing, I didn't know any better) 160GB IDE 133 Hard Drive

Windows XP Home SP2

Final Spec:

Same MGE Sidewinder Case

FSP 450W PSU of some kind

Same CPU

Same Mobo

1GB of DDR 400 RAM of some kind in Dual Channel

EVGA GeForce 6600GT 128MB

Lite-On DVD-ROM (needed to install Battlefield 2) and DVD Burner (to match)

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS

Still had the Maxtor somehow. It croaked shortly into the next computers tenure.

Still XP Home SP2. Vista didn't come out until about 6-10 months before I built the third computer.

I don't know the specific specs anymore, I could check, the system is under my desk, not having been plugged in years, currently serving as a foot rest, but I'm feeling lazy at the moment.. will edit later I guess.

Initially :

CPU : AMD Athlon XP 2800+

RAM : 512MB (dunno the brand)

Motherboard : K7N2 Delta2 MS-6570E

GPU : None, used integrated. (Nforce 2 400 or something..)

PSU : OKIA-550 ATX

HDD : Western Digital 40GB PATA

ODD : Some LG DVD-RW

Case : Cooler Master Centurion 531 (I think? No model name on the case itself, other than "centurion" on the front.)

Later upgraded the RAM to 1GB(dunno the brand).

GPU was upgraded to a ATI X800XL AGP.

HDD was upgraded with a 250GB Seagate drive. (kept the old one)

Current specs though is the upgraded parts, except the RAM was updated to 2GB fairly recently, I impulsed bought a kit when it was on sale, even though I wasn't using that PC anymore

And the GPU, Scumbag brother left the PC in his car trunk during winter when we moved a couple years ago. The GPU ended up dying. (Along with the 40GB HDD that was still in it)

I put in some random AGP GPU I got, in it for now, but I do not intend to use it again, unless my PC ends up dying for some reason.. but then again, my Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet is probably more powerful than that thing by now...

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus / NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 / PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Win 10 Pro

First ever build was for a friend which cost about 1100 bucks (budget of 1000). This was back in the early days (I built this last summer, picked out parts back when I was in school, hell didn't even use PCPartPicker, picked everything out by hand and had to make sure it worked myself) when I first started learning about PCs, and didn't really know how to balance builds or put certain CPUs with certain chipsets for OCing. I hadn't signed up for LTT yet or I wasn't smart enough to put the rig on here, so there are quite a few mistakes to this rig.

CPU: i7-4771

Cooler: Corsair H55

Mobo: Asrock Z87E-ITX

RAM: 8GB (2 by 4GB) Corsair XMS3 @ 1333 Mhz

Storage: WD Black? Blu? Think it was Blu... 1TB HDD NO SSD.

GPU: MSI Twin Frozr 4 GTX 760

PSU: ThermalTake TR2 500W

Case: CM elite 130

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

Follow the topics you create using the "Follow" button in the top right corner!

One day I will have my GTX 970. One day. PC specs are at my profile.

Not sure how to check what part works with what? Check out my compatibility guide!

My first PC was built by someone else, so I guess that doesn't count

The first build I ever did was:
Athlon64 x2 4400+

2gig Corsair xms2

ASUS M2N-MX SE

Integrated nforce shitgraphics

Old IBM netvista sff case and psu

Still runs but one of the ram slots is non functional (could be the CPUs memory controller or a bad board, don't know, don't care tbh)

pc specs: 4 function calculator / 8 digit lcd display / colored numeric and function buttons
