Which GPU Cable Routing Method Looks Best?

  1. 1. Which routing direction for the GPU power cables looks best?

    • GPU to right of motherboard
    • GPU to under motherboard
    • GPU to above motherboard
    • GPU to PSU shroud
    • banana

The GPU power cables are among the most visible in the system and I definitely think that neglecting that fact can ruin the look of an entire build while embracing it can pull a mediocre build together. I'm not sure if it's just in my head, but I've noticed a bias towards certain styles when people vote for which build looks best during competitions and I'd love to confirm that the bias is real.

Assuming that each of these directions have beautiful cables like the image below and are on a single GPU, which routing direction would neatly combed cables look best?

This routing direction would be under motherboard and if they were to go straight down instead of curving back would be PSU shroud, but like I said, assume all of the other directions are routed just as neatly with the same cables not to give the one above an advantage because it's the only picture provided.

Take a banana if you're not sure.

Isn't that why EVGA has that PowerLink thing? So the GPU cables don't look as hideous?

Yes, because instead of beautifully managed and routed cables let's instead have a cheap plastic piece with a huge EVGA tramp stamp on it.

Yep. It's possible to like two or more of the routing methods equally.

Obviously it's banana, potassium is the sexiest thing in the known and unknown universe.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

My dear Watson, I cannot be bothered to fill my mind palace with such trivial and useless information. Besides, it's 2016! We use rainbow cooling to excite the air around the CPU so it'll become more pressured and can then flow more easily away from the CPU.

I mean sure, if you're running on any Blueberry device, but strawberry cooling technology has yet to be bested is terms of price to performance ratios and total heat dissipation. It's also rather tasty.

Gosh, that's so bad for the environment! Earth is so fragile anymore and we can't afford to be so neglectful like that. I can't believe you'd use something so devastating on the planet as rainbow cooling. I prefer the all-natural approach. There's no better way than using green poop as thermal paste and urine as the coolant. It's renewable, saves the planet, and offers the best temps.

I'd make a BlackBerry joke, but it'd be too late.

That's okay, I was going to make one about Apple, but it'd be the seventh one I phoned in.
