Bitfenix Prodigy-M Motherboard Orientation Mod

Epikas

Depends on the length of your graphics card. Mine is too long so I had to relocate it to the bottom slot and raise the psu. If your gpu is short enough, you should be able to easily sli/xfire. As for sound card, it depends on your mother board layout. My sound card uses the pci 1x? Slot, the small one, about an inch long. That slot is located right above the bottom slot enabling me to use the sound card and graphics card at the same time.

I could add another graphics card, but it'll have to be a short one.

Thanks! I'm totally mod the case.... It's pretty easy.. :) Thanks you very much...  :)

You will also have to drill new holes for the new motherboard orientation. That is the hardest part of the modding process.

Can you upload a picture of it? how many holes did you make? Thanks in advance!

I don't really want to take the system apart to show it, but I had to make about 5 holea for the motherboard, and 2 for the hdd caddy.

Great job OP. Would like to give this a go. Few questions regarding this mod:

1. SSD placement in this mod?

2. The bottom fans, are they 140mm?do you need to drill extra hole?

3 . will corsair hydro h100 fit the top vent? Is there enough clearance for h100 rad & fan?

Thanks in advance

Many thanks

I have one more question, what is the max length for the GPU for this built? What gpu do you have in the pic? Thanks

The gpu is a Asus. DCU2 7870.

As for fans, those are 2 Noctua NF-F12's at the bottom.

I currently have a Thermaltake water 2.0 extreme mounted at the top, so your corsair should fit. I will rebuild it during this weekend and upload some new pictures with updated components.

WOW, this is remarkable.

I have this Liquid CPU cooler

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181030

You should get it, and let me know if it fits =)

i also really want to do this mod, but am hesitant of it since I have never done a case mod before. How difficult is it for beginners? I guess if you could give some very detailed, STEP 1, STEP 2, type instructions that would really help us newbies out!

Thanks!

EDIT:

Also, how do you fit a 3.5MM hard drive on the inside of the HDD Rack with that CPU Fan? I can't fit mine with my Corsair CPU cooler.

Im talking about that. youll get answers to your question fast and better if you ask it in its own thread. the op probably will not respond to your question.

Not sure about that cooler, but a thermaltake water extreme fits with the fans externally mounted.

As for harddrive, it just mounts exactly the same as it originally did. I have an external nas so I only have a ssd inside my system located behind the powersupply.

As for modding, it was really easy. just pop the rivets out, flip the mobo and rear i/o plate. After that re-rivet everything back on and your done!

the only difficult part would be re-drilling the proper mounting holes on the motherboard tray. Other then that, it's really easy to do. Took me about an hour because I wanted to be as precise as possible.\

Cheers

Can someone help walk me through this? I'm not quite understanding where I need to rivet new holes for the motherboard.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but couldn't I just flip the back panel, and then move the panel with motherboard to the opposite side? As that will flip the motherboard right side up and everything should be dandy?

all you gotta do is remove the back io piece and change the orientation and change the side the mobo tray is on

i also have a question i have some ideas and would really like to do this mod but im not sure if every thing will fit if i flip the orientation of the mobo

is it also possible to maybe bring the mobo tray foreword a bit and mount the psu behind that

where are your hard drives mounted (or how would i mount them)

would it be possible to mount an h100i in the top externaly and cut the top to do a push pull

and would it be able to mount a 240 rad in push in the bottom? thank you

Nicee! Sorry to revive this thread.

Can you still fit a full 5.25" drive in there WITH a Dark Rock Pro 3 CPU cooler?

And how is the air flow? Is the PC ready for overclocking?

Was thinking long about doing this to my Prodigy. Overlooked the GPU lenght thing though. How did you end up mounting the PSU?
I mean, I still have 660Ti so I want to upgrade soon but until then I must solve the issue.

Main rig: Q6600 OCd, GTX660Ti, 4GB DDR2 Corsair Dominator RAM, 1TB WD BLUE, CX500, Bitfenix Prodigy M

Laptop: Lenovo Z50-75, AMD APU :(
