When people bring me a PC to fix, they leave and when I turn it on it's locked with a password.

When someone says "my pc isn't turning on"  and in reality it's just getting stuck while booting.

Someone calls angry and blames me because "my email isn't working, I can't open attached files ", then I find out the problem is with a single file in a single email that someone decided to convert with corel draw from .JPG to .CDR before attaching it to the email.

This happen yesterday:

"I want you to upgrade my version of windows, this one doesn't have Excel"

Mystery is the source of all true science.

Tool less drive cages, expansion slots, and those single lock clamp you see on Dells or some cases are all crap. Hate it when, something that you know it can be done within a minute or 2, took over 2 hours or more cause of some stupid problem or something that isn't working right. Sometime I think to myself, with the hours wasted, what other productive things I could have done, instead of just sitting there trying to fix that stupid problem.

When you're troubleshooting a bad part, ex: RAM, and it's always the LAST one of the bunch that you check which turns out to have the problem.

I hate troubleshooting RAM when it's the first thing you test too. In fact, if I know the problem is at least one of the RAM sticks then I'm probably just going to buy a new set rather than spend hours waiting for memtest to run.

When you find out that a part is defective or that the pc is unstable for No reason.... (All components are compatible, all components are working fine, all temps are fine, bios is up to date, drivers are up to date, clean install of the OS, an yet it crashes/bluescreens randomly)

Ps: that last part is going on with my pc.... It annoys the shit out of me.

My pc:

I hate when your considered a "computer genius" when you google a problem that someone is having and solve it for them. I didnt know the solution until I looked for it how does that make me a genius. Also when your family or a acquaintance  thinks its ok to call you at any time of the day to ask you questions like "It says here that I just won a free ipad. How does that work? Can you help?". Do you really think people are just give you a free ipad for no reason.

F wifi problems.

I work in a PC repair shop and whenever a customer brings me a laptop saying "my internet won't work", I'm usually stuck explaining that the computer is fine, and that their 9 year old AT&T DSL modem isn't worth a damn.

I work help desk support at The Computer Store for SRT.  Customer calls because computer won't connect to Internet.  Just her computer.  Phone still is.  Troubleshoot everything anyways because I have to.  Her wireless card died.

She went to a tech to get it fixed.  He sent her back saying, "the wireless card works, it's your modem."  When she called back, checked symptoms again, all pointing to a dead wireless card still.

that wasn't you, was it?

You tell someone that It will take you X amount of time to address and fix the issue and they call the next day expecting it to be completely done.

When I see someone did not take the time when they built the computer to do cable management,. It only takes 2 extra minutes as you build to make it look nice.

Someone ask me to setup outlook for a work email that I don't have the port information for.
