First PC build, Budget Brother PC build and Overkill 2016 Build

Hey all, first time posting here!

I am currently building my first own PC to do my content creation and gaming on, as well as building a second PC, being the cheapest possible build for my brother to play games like Euro Truck Simulator on and some other light games.  As I was doing this I decided to have a little fun and make the ultimate overkill build of 2016, however, we will get to that later.  I have built computers before but never owned a desktop myself, I'm currently using an MSI GE72 2QL Apache which is my first laptop bought with my own money :D I have created all three builds on pc part picker and provided the links below inside of the titles of each build for you to inspect for yourself.  I Also live in Australia, so all pricing will be in Australian Dollars (I will provide links on top of the AUD prices to take you to google's online currency conversion, by default its in USD but you can change to your own currency).

I would appreciate if y'all could give me some feedback and suggestions on these builds, I would be more than happy to receive any critique, however, parts for cosmetics I will be less willing to change as I aim to have a modern sleek look.  These builds will have components that I have not listed here as they are either minor or do not affect the performance of the system and can be viewed on the links I provide.

PS: Below links lead to PC Part Picker, amazing webpage for putting together PC builds, if you don't already use it, you should.

My first build:

Budget: $5000 Australian Dollars

So this is my first build here for all of my primary content creation and gaming needs, mainly as my home workstation.  For cosmetics I'm going for a clean and sleek look, staying minimal on colour, however, will make use of medium blue LEDs to accent.  My gaming isn't too intensive and consists mainly of GTA V, Half Life 2 based games, CS:GO, Forza Horizon 3 and Playstation 2 emulations.  For content creation I mainly work with Adobe: Photoshop, Premiere Pro and After Effects.  I also use Sketchup with Caravaggio Render.  I also use Virtual machines and need space for them on my hard drives (currently using 87.8GB on VM's)

CPU: Intel i7 5820K

I chose the Intel i7 5820K as it is a good value high-end CPU which also offers the ability to overclock (I aim to OC to around 3.8 GHz) as well as 6 cores which will help with video encoding and provide overall high performance.

CPU Cooler: Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 3

Should provide good enough cooling for my CPU with a small overclock

Motherboard: Asus x99-Deluxe ATX LGA2011-3

The motherboard I chose is the Asus X99 Deluxe board as it comes with on board Wifi and has brilliant IO.  Aesthetically its attractive and doesn't overpower you with bright red and black we commonly see.

GPU: Galax GeForce GTX 1080 EX OC

I chose the Galax GeForce GTX 1080 as it will provide me with more than enough firepower for the games and content creation I do, and if needed, can have a second for SLI added later down the track.

RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 32GB (4x8)

For RAM I went with the Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 32GB as while it is a large amount of RAM it will provide me with the flexibility for my multitasking.  It will be necessary as in many cases in the past, I have run out of RAM with 16GB on my laptop and have had to take extra time to finish one set of work before continuing with the next.

SSD: Samsung 850 Evo 500GB 2.5"

For an SSD I chose the Samsung 850 Evo 500GB 2.5" to be used as my boot drive and to store adobe and other large programs for quicker load times.

HDD: 2x Western Digital Black 6tb 3.5" 7200RPM

Now for Hard Drives, this in itself would seem like overkill, having 12TB total for storage, but I do have huge files filling up my laptop (almost 1TB) and I have many external drives which are all full which I believe justifies my choice of storage.  I will be putting these two into a raid to perform as one large drive and I plan to expand and add more drives down the track, but for now 12TB is more than enough.

PSU: Corsair Builder 600W 80+ Bronze

Not much to say about this.  It provides enough power for my build with room to expand and has an 80+ Bronze approval, so good PSU in my books.

Case: BitFenix Shinobi Window XL (Black) ATX Full Tower

Nice clean looking case, provides the aesthetics I want and is a full tower so lots of room to work with.

Monitor: 2x Asus VX228H 21.5"

Dual monitors, good price, 1920x1080 resolution is perfect for me, not much more to say.

Mouse: Corsair Sabre RGB

Great mouse, used it before and its great.

Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB Rapidfire

Great keyboard, again I've used this one too before and it feels great.

Cheap Gaming PC for Bro:

Budget: $800 Australian Dollars

Alright so here is the PC I have thought up of for my younger brother who currently plays Euro Truck Simulator and other light games/simulators.  The most intensive games he would play would be Forza Horizon 3 and some other simulation games.  He doesn't do anything else apart from web browsing and office programs so nothing super high end is necessary and thus the parts list below:

CPU: Intel Core i3-4170

I chose the Intel i3 4170 as it will provide the performance he needs, its a dual core with hyperthreading and is cheap as chips xD

CPU Cooler: Stock

No need for an aftermarket cooler, no plans for overclocking

Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

The motherboard I chose is the MSI H81M-P33 board as it is cheap and will work for what he needs and has sufficient IO.

GPU: XFX Radeon RX 460 4GB Double Dissipation Video Card

This GPU is a little gem I found for cheap, it will provide the performance for his games without busting the budget.

RAM: G.Skill Value Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1333 Memory

Whilst this is pretty low-end RAM, its enough for his games and later we can upgrade to higher spec if proven necessary.

HDD: 1x Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM

1TB of Hard Drive space, not the fastest but we don't have money for an SSD at this current time, the hard drive will be sufficient

for his games and files.

PSU: Corsair VS 450W ATX Power Supply

Not much to say, provides the juice, room to spare and is from corsair so decent quality expected.

Case: Deepcool TESSERACT BF ATX Mid Tower Case

Brother is hellbent on this case, he loves the look, I can see the appeal.  Nothing to change here.

Monitor: Acer S220HQLAbd 21.5" 60Hz Monitor

Cheap, high resolution at 1920x1080, big screen size, perfect for his gaming needs.

Mouse + Keyboard: Cooler Master CM Storm Devastator Gaming Bundle Wired Gaming Keyboard w/Optical Mouse

Good value bundle, nice mechanical feel, mouse clicks are... clicky? works for his needs.

Project Overkill 2016:

And now for the grande finale, the Decadent Chocolate Lava Mud cake with hot Chocolate sauce and Chocolate Chips which has way too much chocolate, and we know its way too much chocolate, but we all want it anyway, the Project Overkill 2016 PC.  With this build I set no budget limit and came to a grand total of $16,310.92 Australian Dollars.  I will more than likely never own this PC but hey, a man can dream right?

Here comes the fun part, I challenge anyone who is interested to build a system with similar or better performance at a cheaper price.  There are some constraints, however.

Storage space has to be at a minimum total of 1TB SSD space and 12TB HDD space.

RAM also is 32GB Minimum.

Overclocking is welcome, however, do provide proper cooling

Include peripherals such as; Mouse, Keyboard, Speakers and Monitor

Other than that, go wild and see what you can make that performs the same or better for cheaper.  My build is below:

CPU: Intel i7 6950X

CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U9S 46.4 CFM CPU Cooler

Motherboard: Asus X99 Deluxe 2 ATX LGA2011-3

GPU: 3 way Asus GeForce GTX Titan X 12GB Video Card SLI

RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 128GB (8x16)

SSD: 2x Crucial BX100 1TB 2.5"

HDD: 6x Western Digital Black 6tb 3.5" 7200RPM

PSU: Corsair AX1500i 80+ Titanium

Case: NZXT Switch 810 (Black) ATX Full Tower Case

Monitor: Asus ROG SWIFT PG348Q 34.0" 100Hz Monitor

Mouse: Corsair Sabre RGB

Keyboard: Corsair K70 RGB Rapidfire

Thank you all for reading my first post!  I happily await your responses with critique and advice regarding my builds as well as your overkill builds :D.  Feel free to edit my builds and provide the links below xD

Hope y'all have an amazing day!

Interesting.  As I searched this up, I found that the skylake i3 6100 at 3.7 GHz is cheaper than the 4170 at 3.7 GHz

i3 6100: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/hV7CmG/intel-cpu-bx80662i36100

$145 Australian Dollars

i3 4170: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/hYrcCJ/intel-cpu-bx80646i34170

$156 Australian Dollars

But to keep in mind, now the motherboard will need changing so overall cost will have to be determined to see if the change to skylake is cheaper overall

there are some pretty good budget h110 motherboards that shouldn't increase the price too much.

If we can match it equally, that would be preferable, he is straining to afford what he has listed, so cheaper is always better :P

Thank you for taking the time to rebuild my $5000 build, however, I comes out more expensive than my original and doesn't provide enough storage space (I need at least 6TB).

As for the $800 build, it comes out cheaper, however, when we re-add the monitor, speakers and peripherals, its more expensive than before.

Well your first PSU was crap so it needed to be changed. And you have 4.5 TB. Why do you need 6?

But also to be used for 3D modelling and rendering, photo editing and light programming
