One speaker much, much quieter than the other one

So I recently bought a Z200 speakerset (2 speakers). They're pretty cheap but they get the job done.

However, the left speaker is super quiet while the other speaker is just normal.

When I hold my ear against the left speaker, there is music playing from them, but when I'm just listening to music it feels like all the sound comes from the right speaker.

Any solution? These speakers are brand new and are connected properly.

Good idea, haven't thought of that yet.

They sound fine when connected to my iPhone, however that is not the case when connected to my laptop.

Any ideas?

Check the balance option in windows to check you dont have one channel turned down

Just did that, both channels are the same.

Headphones sound just fine when plugged into my laptop.

Does your audio driver come with a program that allows you to configure the speakers?

Not that I know of, I just installed Realtek HD audio but that's about it. (funny thing is that after the installation I can't seem to find the program on my laptop).

Spotify. It's the same with Youtube.

If you right-click the volume icon on the toolbar, go to "playback devices". Right-click the speakers in question and configure. A window should pop up with your channels on the left and speakers on the right. If you click on the speakers, is one still lower than the other? What if you change the channel to mono, quadraphonic, or stereo and back?

Sorry for the late response, if I click on the speakers the left one is noticeably louder than the right one. I can't change the channel, I can only choose stereo.
