Why is everybody using such big air cpu coolers?

It does result in a LOT better performance, I mean, I'm gaining around 500 points more single core performance in geekbench, which would take quiet some overclocking, while the cpu speed stays at 3.200 MHz. Looks like ram in standard is bottlenecking the cpu. The only weird thing is that this way, Aida 64 shows cpu package draw at 0.5 watts, which is usually 100. So pretty much, the xmp runs at the ram's profile, approved by gskill, or actually the value what the ram is sold for / paid for, and the multiplier at a value that results at the same stock speed. So overclocked ram approved to a value by the manufacturer with lower cpu ratios that end up at the same stock speed? Give me the same cpu temps, but scores as if I had overclocked it to 3.7 or 3.9 GHz.
