Corsair H100i V2 fan questions

racer243l

Hey guys,

I want to get a H100i V2 to cool my 6700k in a Define R5. Now I have a couple question:

First of, should I replace the fans? I heard they are loud (and knowing from my current H80i GT) I´m thinking it makes sense.

Which fans should I get as a replacement? I thought about the Corsair ML120´s, which lead to my next question.

What fans can I use on it? 3 or 4-pin? The ML need 4-pin 12v constantly to work properly and I can´t seem to find any informations regarding what fans the H100i V2 uses stock.

Thanks already! :)

They are very loud, but for a reason. The radiator used has a very high FPI, or Fins per Inch count meaning airflow is very restricted. The fans on there are rated to move a very high amount of air with decent static pressure. This is why they get loud. When you put quieter fans on, generally you will increase the temps by a 1-5c on average. I personally would not recommend a H100. I would recommend something like the EK Predator 240 as a much better option for a few more $$.

The h100i v2 uses the same SP120L found on the h80i gt so you should have a good idea of how that sounds.

3pin dc and 4pin pwm are just ways to power a fan. Either work just as well on a rad.

Some great options are include

NF-P12 PWM: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/Z7mLrH/noctua-case-fan-nfp12pwm

NF-F12: http://de.pcpartpicker.com/product/b2vRsY/noctua-case-fan-nff12pwm

Oh yes, that´s one of the reasons I want to upgrade my system.

Thanks for the recommendations, I will look into them :)

Even though I might go with an air cooler kinda back to the roots style xD
